It's unfortunate, but she has violated the system, and the system brooks no resistance.

peterlee · M
There are consequences for actions.

She needs a robust drugs rehabilitation programme.

A friend or family member who will go with her to the probation appointments. Be there to support her. Someone who believes in her and gives her hope.

Prison will only make things worse. Access to drugs is easy. Again she needs someone who can support her.

A network of positive people helps. She will make mistakes. We all do.

You clearly have valuable experience which can help her and contacts of people who can help with her drugs programme. Are you yourself off drugs now? What other family members will support her? Have you friends that can be supportive of her? How is her probation officer helping?

You cannot do this all yourself. Pool your ideas with your friends. Older people who have had knocks in life may help.

Now, say something nice about her.

@MarkPaul back at ya

@class No, dude. You don't get off so easy. You come in and badmouth her left, right, and sideways. Now, say something nice about her. Do it.
Mom needs to step in and take charge

@Countrygurl18 At 22, she is an adult and responsible for her own actions. Her mother can’t fix this, only she can.

She'll get the realization when the balif slaps the cuffs on.

Maybe prison will help her to change her life around
eMortal · M
Well. That might sober her up.

it's driving under the influence DUI same as drunk driving.. people on their phones are the bigger problem now.. i don't even think people should drive when they are overly emotional because they aren't fully present in their driving 😒 her problem is she isn't taking her driving safety or her drug use seriously 😒
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
It's going to be a difficult, but essential, lesson to learn.
MarineBob · 61-69, M
Maybe she'll see it as a wakeup call
black4white · 56-60, M
She seems like the person that has to learn the hard way so strap back and let her learn :-). She’s young enough to do right and this is just a learning lesson
Good Luck

@lomaine = Ask your sister to pick out her casket and cemetery and to write her obiturary. One day when she's driving stoned she will have a fatal accident and kill someone and maybe herself. When that happens you won't want to deal with all of the nasty details.
gregloa · 61-69, M
She is going to learn the hard way but sounds like rehab is what she needs most. Hopefully it’ll be court ordered and hopefully she’ll stay off drugs.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Lack of discipline growing up and permissive society that promotes drug use.
MrsRachelEvans · 31-35, F
Sounds very bad for her.
RedBaron · M
So both of you have been on the wrong side of the law? Didn’t your parents teach you better than that? Sad.
MrsRachelEvans · 31-35, F
Things like this make me realise why my father was super strict.
Ontheroad · M
Unfortunately, some people don't get the message. All you can do now is hope for the best.
It might be helpful if you could Google the penalties for probation violation plus possession and show her that information. She might start taking it seriously if she sees it in black and white.

Your sister is still young but she definitely has to turn her life around immediately. Look at Britney Spears. She's in her 40s and her life is pretty much messed up.
