i dont get parents that can disown their own children.

that shits always seemed messed up to me. I cant possibly imagine ever having a legitimate reason to do that to my son.

if you are a parent is there any thing you can imagine your child doing that would make you go to that type of extreme measures?

this is what made me think of this. I am sure its not even real because of where i got it but I am sure stuff like this actually happens

Yeah, it's sad how for a lot of people, the hate really does run deeper than even love for their own children.
Hmmmm sometimes there might be a good reason. Maybe these are an ok reason..such as ur child changing who they are maybe it is not nice and kinda disrespectful..

I dunno. But sometimes it is sad to hear that some do not have a parent e.g. never knew dad or mum.

Yeah some lose their parents as the dad or mum dies :(

In situations like this, I think more often than not the relationship was probably not good to begin with.

It's interesting that a few people on this thread always seem to have a problem with trans yet they are mad at those parents when they disown their trans child.

Of course there is the opposite situation at times when people act supportive of something until it happens in their own lives.
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@Torsten kind of like hate the sin but not the sinner.

There might be some transgender out there who do some really weird things that draw attention but most are just trying to live their lives as normally and quietly as possible.
@HoeBag yep hate the sin but always love the sinner… but if they are abusive and druggers and rapists or murderers and etc… they would have to go from my house! Love and pray for them at a distance!
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@Unefilletrescurieuse I guess we do not know the entire story but I am kind of guessing the kid in those texts is probably none of those things.

The parents are probably deeply religious and worship some "God" who is going to send them to hell anyways.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
Well there's many reasons why parents would kick a child out of their house. It could be for many reasons dealing with drugs, rape, robbery or murder.

I have known some families to have disowned their children simply for switching religions or who they marry. It's something that I have talked with others about.

When you're in a certain religion or most religions, looking from the inside out you look upon a world that has gone basically off the cliff into perversion and other sorts of indecent acts.

Looking from the outside in you see a bunch of straight laced stuffy people who don't agree with the permissiveness of today society.

Thus you have a contentious issue which neither side will agree with the other side as to its acceptable conclusion. This is not something that has reared its head only recently, this has been going on since the children of Adam and Eve walked the Earth.

It will continue and it will never stop. Some families embrace their children and accept what they're doing, some will still love their child but not what they do, and some will disown their child and declare their child dead to them.
Lanie78 · 46-50, F
@Disgustedman There's no justification for disowning a child unless of course they turn into some torturous child killer or something.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
@Lanie78 That's your opinion. You're welcome to it.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Disgustedman I can only speak for myself as a parent but those reasons you listed are not something that would ever make me disown my child.
I get some parents feel justified in it but yeah i cant imagine it
I guess some people just don't understand or are not open to it. It doesn't bother me but it would have been hard to get used to. I'm not going to lie. I spent my life know my son as a male. It wouldn't have been easy to get to know him as a female. But I don't think I could have ever walked away from my son.

Oh my dad did this. He was too busy with his "new" life for me.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@MeowsoliniReturns that really sucks. Sorry to hear that
MeowsoliniReturns · 51-55, F
@Torsten Thank you. It changed my life, for sure. I always felt cheated.

My brother-in-law disowned his daughter when she would not stop dating a known drug dealer. His law enforcement friends kept him posted on the dealer's activities, and he warned his daughter that a raid was coming soon. Finally, she broke off the relationship and the break with her father was repaired. Shortly after that, the drug guy was arrested.
Lanie78 · 46-50, F
Just awful. All a parent should ever want is for their children to be happy. They're still your child regardless of their sexual preferences etc.
Cruel beyond words.

Like giving a dog away when it's no longer cute and a puppy 😔
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Lanie78 thats exactly it. well said
anythingoes477 · 31-35, M
I kind of disagree with you. When a persaon.........a son........a husband.......a dad..........whomever does something bad enough that no amount of love covers it...........like killing or abusing a child or doing a crime just as horrible to hurt anyone........at some point a person with morals and a conscience should not continue to say "I love you...no matter what". Some things cross the line of what a reasonable, normal person can or should condone. In some cases I perfectly understand a parent saying.........."I'm done........I can't ignore or condone the thngs you do.

These make me want to cry for them, support them, hug them, and promise to always love them no matter what.
Everyone deserves unconditional love
I can totally imagine one of these billionaire Dad's who disowned a handful of his own kids weighing in here. He'd say -"Yeah, me neither! That's unthinkable!".
Budwick · 70-79, M
When the prodigal son saw his own error his disrespect for his father and even God - THEN the father forgave his son.
Applepiedom · 61-69, M
Nah,they giving me up..... Prodigal child. I don't give them up but don't want anything to do with me. Best revenge? Love well. I'm moving on. They know where I'm st
I can't understand this too.
Rhonda · F
I got disowned as I wanted a life outside their christian church.
Lanie78 · 46-50, F
@Rhonda Sorry to hear that 😔
Rhonda · F
@Lanie78 well at least I'm enjoying life now
Lanie78 · 46-50, F
@Rhonda Pleased to hear that. Still must feel horrible to be disowned though. As a mum, my kids are my world. They always will be no matter their age or life choices.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
It usually involves brainwashing, frequently by a "religion" but not always. The usual justification is that this is for the best of the child because of you break off their support network they will be forced to conform to whatever position you held and come crawling back. It is a monstrous practice. Jehova's Witnesses are infamous for it in the US.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@ViciDraco i have heard of Jehova witnesses doing that actually
Gangstress · 41-45, F
This actually does happen. If you ever spoke or gave your time, without fear, and talked to those 'trannys' without the cob of your shoulder. Youd learn a lot.
But i doubt you'd leave your house tbh because youre scared of everything.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Gangstress well that shows you really know shit all about me and who i associate with. Also i just said I am sure this shit happens. learn to read haha
Jorgillo · 41-45, M
none of that is your fault. They love themselves and their superegos more than anything. This message proved it. I don't even need to see anything else. They are the DISGRACE. Not you.
@HoeBag I don’t know ANYTHING about the kid nor did I imply any such thing.

God will send ALL who reject him and whose name is not found in the book of life to Hell. Yes ma’am!

As far as my answer goes…. Some children beat up their parents, some hold a gun on them…. Some are so drug crazed they steal everything they get their hands on. So I’m sticking to my answer. They WOULD have to go. And I was speaking for me! Tough love is what some need rather than enabling. And my answer has nothing to do with one being trans…
HoeBag · 51-55, F
@Unefilletrescurieuse and he did cast them down into the lake of fire! Hellfire and brimstone!
@HoeBag That has not happened yet! It will tho! Revelation is a book that prophesied the future and specifically the end…. And nobody is in that lake of fire yet!

That was truly sad to read omg 😒
revenant · F
This is utterly heartbreaking. Those kinds of parents are a total disgrace. Unfortunately this type exists and is beyond cruel and stupid.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@revenant completely agree with you
Penny · 46-50, F
thats so sad. its the parents that are disgusting
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
Because some people are really stupid and immature
It’s just disgraceful that it still exists today but am not surprised when I see pseudo religious people and how they react
pride49 · 31-35, M
People are stupid
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Those are parents who had very specific expectations of their children, possibly because they feel bad about their own failed lives. They are so self-centered that they think their children are their property, to do as they desire, and if they won't, then out the door they go.

If I were still a Christian, I'd say there's a special place in hell for people like that.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire oh i could say something to respond with to that last sentence but i will hold me tongue.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Torsten I would hope so, because I was agreeing with you.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire hence why i held back
