Age question How old last time you had a sitter ?

I BECAME a babysitter at age 11, for a family across the street on New Year's Eve...sitting for a baby with the croup. Worst nightmare of my life.

Prior to that, my older brother used to baby sit me on the rare occasion my parents went out.

I never had a baby sitter. My grandparents lived in the same house as my parents , my sister, and I. So there was always an adult in the house.

Multi-generational households were not unusual for immigrant families back then.

My older siblings or grandparents always watched me so I never really had a sitter.
Sometimes my parents wouod go out with friends parents which lead to a big kids block party.

Can't remember. It's more a trust and maturity thing than an age thing. I've seen eight year olds that I think could be fine for a couple hours and fourteen year olds I wouldn't trust for thirty minutes, so yeah...

About age 9. From 11 on, I was the sitter of my siblings. But my parents also gave me a choice, and they paid me.
