I was pleased that they noticed a change to my normal spending patterns and contacted me for verification that it was all legit. It was an annoying hour when they suspended my account, but it didn't take more than a phone call to sort it out.

Yes. My bank is a lifesaver. I've never purchased gas on my card and one year the bank called and asked me if i was trying to purchase gas at some gas station in a city that I've never heard of. They tried to charge $300. I had my card in my possession but they said that someone was using it at that moment. So Apparently it was skimmed (copied) so they turned it off and issued me a new one.

Yes, my card number was stolen, and several charges were made. I went to the bank with my statement, and pointed out which charges were not mine. I got a refund and a new card.

Someone used my brokerage account to buy makeup in Germany. My partner doesn't use fancy makeup. The brokerage refunded the money. I haven't visited Germany in a very long time.
