I love me, myself and I

SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
My wife accepted my mistress because she knew I loved her. Now my wife and my mistress do it in front of me !

@SkeetSkeet sounds like the fantasies of some people here

If you loved your wife, you would never want to hurt her in any way. The fact that you did, and still do, cheat on her, means you absolutely love YOURSELF and only yourself. You merely indulge in your marriage and affairs with the same commitment as a diner at a buffet.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Yes you can. Love takes many forms.
But we never love 2 people the same way. If people got everything they need from one partner, they would never look elsewhere.
Dusty101 · F
@RubySoo very good point! ❤️
Braveheart · M
Love is a two way thing. So, if you're someone who's involved with two people at the same time ask each of them how they feel about you. But before you ask each of them that question they must know about the other person. It will very quickly answer the question and sort everything out.

Love is often confused with the initial chase, flirtations and lust. Once the fireworks are spent love is the continued committment and making sure those initial flames are never extuinguished. Its not just about holding hands and hot sex, it's about so much more.

Mortgages, rent, babies, jobs, ageing, routine can blur things. Never take your lover for granted or stop listening to their ideas, dreams. Stay in love if you can and if love is not reciprocal, make the break and you will find it easy to find real love rather than flirtations and lust.
Dusty101 · F
Personally I thought I was in love with two people but I was just infatuated with them. I'm sure and heard that people can. I don't think that sort of love was put in my data base as I've never been in love. I've never experienced feelings other people describe. But I have a bloody genuine care and adoration for my husband. And it works. But I'm not in love.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Dusty101 i agree 100%
I feel the same way about my husband.
But.....ive certainly felt infatuated towards other men. I havent acted on it, but clearly, that is the feeling missing in my marriage. Its been an issue for me at times.....but not any more. Im content with my lot these days.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Sure. You can love a number of people at the same time. Add lust masquerading as love to the equation and that number can go up drastically. I think love is experienced on different levels though depending on how much a person compliments you and your desires in life. And even though it can be a solid love for one in particular, that level can fluctuate here and there if you’re open to new versions of connecting with others. Especially if you’re into chasing the thrill of new encounters that can get the ole heart racing. That’s where it can get tricky. If you leave yourself open to establishing a love connection that may end up reaching your core, then you’re also opening yourself up to bringing pain to someone whose heart rests with yours…someone who isn’t necessarily open to welcoming another love like you are.

Platonic love can be possible with more than one person. Romantic love is only possible with one person though. I don’t see how someone can love two people with the same feelings in their heart. It’s probably lust if that’s so….not love.
Adrift · 61-69, F
I dont know but when you eventually find out your mistress has been all along sleeping around behind your back ,and your wife has been spending alot of time with this "friend" from the gym, you will figure it all out.
LiLShrimp · 22-25, F
I don’t know. I think each person is capable of love in a different way. 🤔 If someone’s heart is big enough for two people, then good for them I guess.
Justme22 · M
I think you can care about different people and mistake that caring/infatuation as love. But no I don't think you can truly love 2 people at the same time.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I don’t think so. I think it’s different kind of love for what you need at the time but never
Completely 100%.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
It’s only possible with full transparency and consent among everyone involved. A huge component of love is trust and friendship built over time. Without that it’s not really love.
That said, there’s different kinds of love. I love my kiddo. I love my family. I love my partner. I love my dearest friends. I love my dog lol.
TheConstantGardener · 56-60, M
The train will eventually leave the track.

How does a person end up with a mistress when already married? Sounds like a lack of commitment in heart and relationship.
Will it cause heartbreak? Seriously?! It's going to cause a lot of hurt, hard feelings and problems.
Does each woman know about the other and do they mind?
Letting you know what I think won't change a thing. This I know because someone is doing just that in daily life here and it's been a mess, but nothing changes.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@THECHANGINGFACEOFEVIL really?? Do you acidentally fall into bed with all yr work collegues?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@RubySoo this site has contributed to my long standing single hood 😂

They all think like this. Never be faithful to a dog I mean man. They deserve nothing. They will use you for as long as someone better comes along and then they have the audacity to ask if you can love two people and will someone be hurt

We’re you hurt when you found out I’ve been fucking your brother all these years and that kid is actually his 🤔
SW-User
@THECHANGINGFACEOFEVIL Like I said...not really committed to the wife or relationship.
Rickichickie · 56-60, F
Most likely it will if your wife finds out and a mistress isn't always happy to play 2nd violine instead of 1st.
The only one who's happy might be you, I'm sorry to say.
SW-User
Stop the greed, you already have one woman let the rest of us get some as well. Sheesh! This is what's wrong with society.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Yes.
Yes.
Possible but improbable.
You really should anyway.
Most likely.
I think its sticky territory to be avoided at all costs.
SW-User
Doubtful. I would think the feelings for the mistress are more lust and infatuation, I doubt it's about love at all.
SW-User
I think it's possible ..
You can love people in different ways
There are different types of love
Fairydust · F
I’ve never, I’m the type to leave a relationship before starting another one.
people can’t control
their feelings. tons of sadness
I don't think you can. Many have tried, though.
robb65 · 56-60, M
Some people can. I have a relative who was once in a poly relationship (and may still be, IDK). I think it takes a certain thought process and a level of open mindedness that few people possess though.
eMortal · M
You can be attracted to more than 2 people at the same time. Some things it’s love but it’s just lust and wants.
cycleman · 61-69, M
I guess the mistress is accepting the perverted side of yourself that your wife has rejected for years.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Yes, it's fairly easy.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Yes. Some people can't manage to love even ONE person, others can only love themselves.
@ChipmunkErnie That’s true, too, I suppose. But there was a time when loyalty, fidelity were valued.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Very often valued, not quite so often practiced.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I can’t imagine how that could work but I suppose stranger things have happened
Yulianna · 22-25, F
do/did you have two parents?
Dino11 · M
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
One absolutely can have feelings for more than one person. Happened to me.
Justenjoyit · 56-60, M
Thank you for Best Comment
This must be a question directed mostly towards men…🙄
@ChipmunkErnie I assumed the OP was sex-specific intentionally.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard Could be. I didn't really read it, just answered the question itself. Oh well. Then again. a lot of women have girlfriends, wives, mistresses, too. ;)
@ChipmunkErnie That’s certainly true now.
SW-User
If you loved your wife you would not have a mistress in the first place
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I think it can happen
caesar7 · 61-69, M
Yes...I know someone who does.....
