What did kids do for fun in your generation?

play outdoor , swimming , running , jumping , soccer , cycling , climbing in tress , riding horses

i played alone sometimes, or with my cousins and late brother, at the lake and a small river nearby after crossing some woods.[/c]

Friends came over. We had this awesome sofa downstairs in the tv room made of 16 foam squares. You could arrange them whatever way you wanted. We would pile them up and make a slide out of them

We roller skated every saturday at the indoor arena

Skateboarded and rode bikes everywhere

Lots of board games

Every Friday night was ice skating at the local arena. All the kids from school went

Every Sunday night was the Walt Disney movie of the week

We went outside and called on our friends at their houses. Never phoned them

We walked miles to the candy store

We would go to the pin ball/video game hangout as teens

I could go on forever

Collected friendship beads and passed notes everyday that we wrote back and forth, folded in a variety of ways…: talked on the phone all evening.

1. Used slingshots to bring down ‘dates’ from palm trees …

Double dutch, Skating, Hide n seek, Hang at the malls, movie theaters, house parties, walk thru the woods

Our bicycles were our life. And fastest way into trouble.

Basically the same in the late 90s/early-to-mid 2000s. I read a lot of books, can't speak so much for most of my friends. Played a lot of video games. Spent plenty of time outside, even if it just meant in someone's backyard.

My little brother (older Gen Zer) did the same really, though add "watch YouTube videos" to that list.

Get a few people together and played baseball, in the summer or sliding in the winter. Visited my grandmother every Sunday and played with my cousins while the grownups chatted. Walked along the beach or on trails in the woods . Fishing,

Well I rode around the neighborhood on bikes & skateboards, hanging out, & getting into trouble with my friends. Played video games with my siblings.

At least until I discovered alcohol & weed at age 11 🤷

I grew up in the 80s-90's as well. We did the same things. Mostly playing outside, watching cartoons, playing jump rope and knuckle bones. Who remembers when scatter-rings came out in 96

Played video games, played outside together, played sports, called each other on the one (3 way called), sleep overs

Played video games ,rode bikes ,swam in the creek ,went into the woods ,swung from trees,

Rode bikes, built forts, and lots of time swimming in lakes, quarries, rivers, and any body of water around.

Rode our bikes, played baseball, basketball, football, went fishing...

Rode bikes and terrorized the neighbors. Also, arcades.

I played video games, with other kids or go outside. I got upset when I wasn't allowed to go outside, we acted like we saw God out there 😂

I am the same age as OP so had similar activities. In Summer my mom took us to the public library once per week where we could check out whatever books we wanted.
Played outside all day long, rode bikes, played video games also. I had a Barbie Dreamhouse

In my day (60s-70s) we roller skated, rode our bikes, played board games and cards, hung out at the mall, watched tv, listened to records on the record player and learned new dances.

Same, built forts, walked everywhere, rode bikes, made out with girls and always always in before the street lights came on.

I rode my bmx bike a lot, met up with friends, went swimming, did homework 🥳

I did nothing but watch tv I had no friends

When you have a young son, it's the best thing you can do for him in life.

Throw stink bombs on people we didn't like. Find ways to make money, rolling dice and playing dominoes. Also throw donuts at people
