What did kids do for fun in your generation?
In my day (80s-90s) we read books, played video games, watched cartoons, or played outside.

Basically the same in the late 90s/early-to-mid 2000s. I read a lot of books, can't speak so much for most of my friends. Played a lot of video games. Spent plenty of time outside, even if it just meant in someone's backyard.
My little brother (older Gen Zer) did the same really, though add "watch YouTube videos" to that list.
