Life is change. And that is continuous, from birth to the end.
Even the rate of change, changes.
Even notice older people slow down, and babies grow up fast?
Lifes crisis only slow down culminating into the final change.
To call it a mid life crisis, one have to know the range of life as well as the rate of change.
For even puberty is a crisis. And even that is different for everyone.
Noticed this is dependent on two factors instead of one -- age. It's not only limited to those two factors though.

Its not from mid-life crisis issues .. but my life is in full reset mode. Two sons are successfully launched. The dysfunctional 31+ year marriage is ending. My job was eliminated in a restructuring leading to an early retirement. I've a house to get on the market to sell. I'll relocate a few hundred miles away, back to my roots.
This is how I'm choosing to see it rather than as a crisis ..

I think life has you in crisis mode whenever you hit what feels like it should be some sort of milestone.
You reassess your job and it's value.
You reassess your lifestyle and whether you need to start taking more care of yourself, because, you know, suddenly you're 'at that age'.
Lots of things

Well, define what an mid-life crisis means to you.
Some take it as the end-all, be-all "Midlife Crisis", or some take it as a cluster of situational hiccups within a set amount of moments during which a solid sum (typically two decades) of reflecting takes place.
But, I went with option three......

Turning 30 sucked. Turning 40, not so much.

Yes I have. I also experienced one around 50 and the other at 60.
