When was the last time you mistakenly waved at someone?

A while back, a neighbour pulled over in their car and their young son waved at me from the back seat. I thought they'd stopped for me, so I climbed into the car. The father was surprised and asked me what I was doing. It turned out he was waiting for his wife. His child had just recognised me and waved to me. They hadn't stopped to offer me a ride home at all.

Yep, I've done that!! A very excited so happy to see you wave & of course, it was someone I've never met!! Sooo embarrassed!!!

Too often to remember. But I don’t regret being friendly.

That would not embarrass me, I wave at random people on purpose. I love that they are driving down the road wracking their brains and thinking "who the heck was that?" Lol.

The same thing happened the in grocery store yesterday and woke up with a vision of her, just strolling away with a nearly empty cart.

Driving in town the other day actually.. the car looked familiar so I waved… once the driver came into view… uh!!

I live in a fairly friendly neighborhood. Cars drive by all the time and wave. Sometimes I see them and wave back then think to myself 'who the heck was that ?!!' and then look behind me to see if anyone else is around that they were likely waving to

I just did it the other day totally thought it was my buddy but nope lol

In some rural areas people whom you may or may not know wave all the time. Either being nice or see who's carrying

It's never a mistake, I sometimes wave at strangers.
