Normally I've been calm and organised. However, several years ago when I had an unexplainable issue with my Central Nervous System one side effect was about a year or so of panic attacks. And when you're having a panic attack about whether you have the wrong type of yoghurt it is a very weird feeling both during and after. Thankfully once they stopped they've never reappeared.

One big one comes to mind, first time 'out' and dressed and everything, sweetie. Thought I looked ok but some people commented and then I felt everyone's eyes on me.

Panicked, rushed home and cried.

Not nice.

😔

I would not say panic as in can't function or take action, I have had countless "Oh Shit" "What the F" moments in my 27 years in the Army and raising my son and daughter on my own, but I always acted and took the action needed when needed and never panicked.

I learned very early in life as a child that panic kills.

@WillaKissing It's not something you can control. If you don't get it then you're just lucky. The only thing you can try to control is your breath when it happens so you won't pass out from hyperventilating.
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@CrazyMusicLover I understand that. I just answered the question asked by the poster, no I have not had one before.

And for those that do get them I can only empathize with them.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Lol, if only once... 😅
The last one is embarrassing. I got lost in the forest around this time of the year, it was a bit foggy and getting dark. By lost understand that I thought I knew where I was but it turned out I had no idea and I got disoriented so badly. 🙈 So I was running around like a headless chicken for a while hyperventilating and dizzy until I finally got to a place I knew.
Waafa · 26-30, F
@CrazyMusicLover That could make you panic
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Waafa It happened at least three times but before it was just unpleasant because it was a day and I knew I had plenty of time and I approximately knew where I was and that there wasn't a chance to not notice a wide main trail that I had to cross walking that direction. But that time, I was so wrong about where I was that looking back I don't even understand how it's possible. I thought I crossed the main trail and that I was on the other side of the ridge when I never left that side at all. I had zero sense of direction. When I realized that I was suddenly like when you're in big waves and you can't see where the shore is and suddenly you have no idea if you're going to swim towards the shore or away from it.

one time my ex's vape started hissing and he started shoving me off the bed like "run!!" and then it exploded on his nightstand and there was a basketball sized fire in the closed room. my panic brain just made me stand in the corner of the room and jump in place lmao

@CountScrofula he ran it to the kitchen sink where it exploded two more times and vape shrapnel scarred the ceiling and wizzed past my head. the whole house stank like battery acid, we were shouting, and his family slept through the whole thing 💀
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Frostcloud Your life is so placid and strange at the same time lmao
craig7 · 70-79, M
No,can't say anything has made me "panic" but have certainly been in situations of serious concern.

I've been in a crowd and suffered a panic attack and yet have been in far more dangerous situations and remained relatively calm

I panic a lot, but I put a lot of pressure on myself. Usually in bad situations where normal people would be panicking, I can stsy calm enough to get out of it. But as soon as I'm in the clear, I'll lose my shit either crying or with panic attacks.
Wallflow3r · 31-35, F
If you have anxiety everyday is a panic. 😅

I’m usually very good under pressure, at that very time at least.
MellyMel22 · F
@Waafa Once I have time to really think about certain things, I may lose it 😅 But in emergency like situations, I’m good. And working under pressure.
Waafa · 26-30, F
