go see what is happening.

Kavat · 36-40, M
My house? A single warning then kick them out if they try to argue back, no questions asked, the exception being my nephews or nieces, we all raise them as a family.

Someone else's house? Grab my stuff, thank the owners for having me over and leave.
In my household, yes, I’d say something.

And not just because I live alone. 😳
Penny · 46-50, F
it would depend on who the people were but likely go investigate and try to help defuse the situation. like just go and be like what's going on?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I always try to stay out of any argument, leave the room or even the place if needed.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover that's fine I was just asking a follow up question?
Because you said you stay out of any argument and or leave the room if needed so I wondered if you had an experience before that made you feel like that was the safest thing to do .
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Mellowgirl My experience was that then all the anger in the room was directed at me. It's not that I'd feel unsafe but it taught me to rather not interfere because then I might be the one who gets all the shit in the end. I'd meddle in and suddenly the subject changes and I'm the one who is yelled at by the both sides for an entirely different reason, like the original problem was already forgotten.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover I completely understand where you are coming from with that perspective.
People talk about bravery and having the courage when an issue occurs. But it is entirely true you can end up in a situation whereby it then turns on you.
4meAndyou · F
I think I would go for a long walk, and hope things improve when I return.
I used to live in this situation...
...
It was a nightmare...
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
I'd probably intervene.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Starcrossed do you think there would be any reason for you to not step in?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@Mellowgirl visible violence by a perpetrator I felt would victimize me next...I'd probably call a larger male bouncer type friend or the police depending on the situation.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Starcrossed understandable.
Thank you for responding. I appreciate it.

I’d get off her and go back to my own room
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Nunlover well I'd like to think you weren't a violent person
@Mellowgirl I’m a sweetheart
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Instinctually I would get up and see what was going on.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
Grab my phone, baseball bat and go check it out.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Is it their house, or yours?
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@CGS1984 their house
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
I'd start banging a bunch of pots and pans together and shout "LOUD NOISES!!!!!"

If you can't beat em, confuse em.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@TinyViolins lol ok that's a new one.
It definitely would cause a distraction and probably diffuse things at least for a moment. Hopefully in that instance give them enough time to rethink what they're doing.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@Mellowgirl Yeah, when passions are that inflamed, reason is completely useless.

It's like trying to break up a cat fight. You're just gonna end up scratched. Best thing you can do is make a loud noise or spray them with water and it'll break their concentration just enough to realize it ain't worth it
Vin53 · M
"You can't fight in here! This is the war room!"
Tell them to leave
