I've learned to evaluate the situation with attention to the character and personality of the person asking. Some people would never want to impose on others, so if they're asking for money then you can guess the difficulties that drove them to this point. Others seem to be takers in many ways, and it becomes easy for them to ask for money.

I also try to recognize if helping with money helps with a problem, or only addresses an outcome. My extended family has a history of helping others out when they need it, but we have one family member who makes bad decisions and wastes their money. We love them and would do almost anything for them, but we won't give them money.

Doing the right thing sometimes means not choosing what initially appears to be caring and helping.

Always ask yourself what kind of a relationship you have with someone. Offer to help in ways not giving them money - that often shows their real intentions.

That said, if I'm going to make a mistake, I'd rather make the mistake trying to help out.

Not real clear, right? That's life. Try and do the best you can. :)

@Kobrassky Yep, why aren't they going to family and closer friends? That's often good insight.

Just know don’t give/keep giving what you can’t afford to lose. If it bothers you to give you money, stop doing it so much.
You’ll actually be surprised how many people will turn their backs on you because you said, “I can’t today”.

Sometimes they do sometimes they don't I've seen that before and it does happen but you can't unfortunately label everyone under a certain assumption just because of a few bad apples in the barrel.

So many times I see that shit in society where a few people will be up to something and then people will just assume that an entire group is like that.

@KingofBones1 yea thas true

People who ASK for money are usually NOT the kind of people to whom you want to give money. They are not the best sort of person.

Of course, there are always those Go Fund Me situations, where one of their family members is dying of Leukemia, or something like that.

Most people that really need money would never ask for it. They would be ashamed and get it themselves.
Kobrassky · 26-30, M
@Intuitive yeaa now that i think about it thats true for 90% of people but then theres those people who have no shame smh

Under every overpass around here. They drive a nice car and have a home. Begging is their job.

invisiblewoman · 36-40, F
People shouldnt ask others for money. They should just get a job.
Kobrassky · 26-30, M
@invisiblewoman i suspect some of these people have jobs

There are definitely situations when people with lots of money ask for a loan.
