The difference between Hidin' Insurrectionist Baby-trump and Putin...

Putin calls Hidin' Insurrectionist Baby-trump, "bright" while holding low regard for his capabilities, self-discipline, and intelligence. Baby-trump basks in the glow of what he treats as a compliment.

Biden calls Putin "bright" while holding low regard for him as bureaucrat who is a killer. Putin seems to know it's no compliment.

Putin is brutal and repressive, but he's by no means unintelligent. He's very shrewd and knows what he's doing. Unfortunately his goals are usually not in the interest of liberty and equality.

In stark contrast, Trump is a raving idiot who makes decisions almost entirely on either his emotional state, or based upon whoever has his ear in the moment. He has no core beliefs or opinions and is happy to contradict himself without explanation.

@BlueMetalChick Trump has core beliefs imigrants bad the non white kind.

@Spotpot It's possible, but I also can't shake the feeling that he doesn't give a shit about immigration but knows his base does.

@BlueMetalChick I agree. He's singularly interested in the "sugar" high he gets from the illusion he's popular and like any popular middle schooler with low self-esteem, he will jump on the side of any issue that he senses everyone else is on. It doesn't matter what the side is, what the issue is, or what the consequences are.

At the point "the base" realizes immigration is the way to ensure they get their social security payments from a new crop of workers and food on their table from workers who will work under conditions they won't, he will shift his favour to that side. Sadly, "the base" will act against their own self-interests far into the future before they come to any sensible realization.

@MarkPaul One of the most striking moments of clarity when conversing with a person who clearly did not have their own self interests in mind happened to me just shy of two years ago, when I was talking to someone about whether or not Trump should be forced to release his tax information. This man told me that he believed it was quite likely that Trump had committed some form of tax evasion or fraud, but that was why he liked Trump. Because he was "smart enough to get out of paying his taxes" and that it showed how cunning he was. He wanted a president who was clever enough to avoid paying his taxes. When I reminded him that such actions mean he himself would have to pay more in taxes, or otherwise see government programs which benefit him be cut, he told me that he didn't care because "that's the way it's supposed to be."

@BlueMetalChick Yeah, and that's a perfect example of the mindset of these people who are both nonsensical and willing to do harm to themselves.

The comforting thing is these type of people didn't just get created; they have been part of the population from the (original) get-go. The frustrating thing is they never tire of their gullibility that they are "owning the libs" and feeling like they are accomplishing something.

@MarkPaul I never thought I'd say that I wish people would be more selfish lol
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@BlueMetalChick Well, the thing is, they are being selfish in their need for validation regardless of the physical, financial, moral, and long-term psychological consequences to themselves (and families).
