I have been on Prazosin for a few years. My nightmares have decreased significantly with no ill effects. Positive thoughts whatever it is it will work for you.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@SageWanderer that's what I was prescribed as well. Thank you sweetheart. I'm glad it works for you, hopefully it gets me too.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@ScreamingFox It has a good track record so to speak plus it’s proven to help nightmares from PTSD. Keep me posted as how it goes.

I used to have horrific nightmares. I also tried meds to help with them. THC was the only thing medically that worked, it made me stop dreaming completely. So that is my drug recommendation.
The thing that actually made my nightmares better naturally without any medicine was by addressing and improving my spiritual situation. The nightmares turned out to be spiritual attack for me. That may not be the case for you. But I mention that as well to try to give another avenue that may help.
I hope your nightmares get better 🌸 I know how bad nightmares can be.

Nightmares are the worst. I uses to have them 5-6 times a week, all night long, from the time I can remember till I was 26. I don't know what happened then to make them stop, but I rarely have them anymore.
It eventually got so common that I didn't consider it a nightmare unless it woke me up and kept me up for an hour. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep as a kid.

Girl you deal with way more poopy than you should have to. I'm so sorry. Hope they help 🪄
Have you ever tried hypnosis for anything? I haven't done it but I've heard good things from some people...you have to find a good hypnotherapist though, some are BS. I want to try it one day.

@Notsimilarreally I've tried hypnosis twice now and it didn't work. I'd be willing to try again. I've seen it work on people. i wish we could hypnotize ourselves.

Establishing a relaxing bed time routine, creating a comfortable sleep environment, and practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation are helpful for nightmares. So, you truly don't need medication
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@geminirising Ha! Yeah I never tried any of that before 🙄
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Have you tried gummies? They've helped me.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Crazywaterspring I have my medical marijuana card, it does help me sleep but nothing helps the nightmares
Penny · 46-50, F
do you have a dreamcatcher? i bougth one after i was having a bunch of nightmares and it worked. hung it up on teh wall behind my bed. got it from ebay
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Penny I make dreamcatchers and have a few, even a beautiful indigenous made one from my travels.
Penny · 46-50, F
@ScreamingFox maybe pick teh best one, smoke it with some sage and hang it up? alternatively i had recurring nightmares when i was a teen once and moved teh position of my bed and the went away. might be worth a shot
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Penny thank you
Pretzel · 70-79, M
Yeah your brain wants to mess with you every chance it gets
Give the meds a few days to get. In your system...
And I am wishing you some pleasant dreams
Hopefully with at least one Disney character in it.

I guess that I'll sound a dit different once more. You need someone to go through the dreams. That's talking about them. Trying to figure out what your brain is trying to deal with when you're asleep
Livingwell · 61-69, M
I hope it all works out. 🤗
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@Livingwell thank you
Bang5luts · M
They gave me dream inhibitors before that instead of suppressing my dreams made it worse. By making it impossible to wake up from the nightmares. Not better, worse.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
I never heard of taking medicine for a nightmare
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@smileylovesgaming it's not A nightmare hun
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@ScreamingFox that is what u said on the post
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
itsok · 31-35, F
What med is it? (If you feel comfortable sharing)
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@itsok Prazosin. Like SageWanderer. I'm hoping it helps.
itsok · 31-35, F
@ScreamingFox I’m also on prazosin, and it has helped. I still dream, but when I wake up from my dreams I’m completely calm.
I don’t think I had ever experienced waking up calm before. Are you starting on 1mg?

ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
@itsok yes 1mg. I'm tempted to break them in half at first but I should probably call the doc. I have so much anxiety about meds 😅
It's very reassuring to hear it helps. I'm so glad it works for you. Waking up calm sounds like, a dream...
