@HoeBag It seems to me that those who are doing this often use the assets of the person to pay for care, but I have only met a couple people in this situation and my data points aren't anywhere near fully formed yet. This is just what I see so far.
It wouldn't surprise me if this is the case though as this isn't all that uncommon when it comes to mental "institutions". Let's hope it's not the same as that is all I can say and think.

Are your rights similar to someone who is inpatient at a mental hospital? Meaning, police could get get involved if the patient ran away (in the USA at least).
