Who Learned How To Drive A Vehicle With A Clutch?

If you don’t know how to use a clutch. You aren’t driving. You are just steering it.

The thing with driving a vehicle with a clutch. Once you learned it, you learned it for life.

I think the clutch is the main reason why I don't drive. I passed the exam but I'm aware of my weak points and one of it is definitely not knowing how to get out of somewhere fast. Like fast acceleration from standing still. Even remembering to put gear 1 wasn't something automatic for me and I was slow with changing gears.

Tractors and heavy equipment to change gears you to be at complete stop (because them don't synchronized gears in the transmissions like street use vehicles)

Me! I did! I'd have my kid learn on one in a few years but they aren't really around anymore so I wouldn't even know where to get one to teach on.
I taught myself how to drive a stick. I wouldn't insult anyone who didn't.

My very first vehicle was a 1970 VW Beetle. But we had a 1964 Chevy Truck on the Farm I was raised on that had 3 on the tree plus reverse.

My wife and I did, and our children also had to learn to drive with a clutch.

Me, I do like automatic because of how effortless it is, but it's more fun to drive a car with a clutch

@MartinTheFirst YES! 😎

Especially driving a sports car.

I love a stick shift trucks when you're pulling big heavy loads and the whole cabs bounces, cause your in the wrong gear or you're giving it too much gas

I did when I was 12 or so. My children were taught on a manual transmission

I like that clutch

Passed my test in a car with a clutch

@UKNaturist - majority of the cars I've owned have been stick
HumanEarth · F
Me to, I seek them out when car shopping
I couldn't reach the pedals at the time, hauling water across the field at an idle in second gear

gotta learn to do without for when it eventually breaks while being too broke to replace it, eh
WandererTony · 56-60, M
Drove all my life with the clutch pedal.
Hate the new cars that need no skills.

Connecting to the real world gets more rare each year

Yes I learned it. I did it. I do it no longer and I greatly prefer that.
WildWings · 70-79, M
Surely everyone learns that before they sit their driving test. 🤨
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Heck, I never learned how to use the brake pedal. A tree was all you needed.
