Divorced female colleague to me one lunch time: I am wondering if you are wanting to explore being special friends because you seem to be especially kind to me and I've been wondering about what you really think for a long time.
Reply in my head: NO WAY!
Reply out loud, kind, but firm explanation that she had completely misinterpreted what she had seen. We continued to work together amicably but it took me a while to get over the surprise/shock.

@FreddieUK
Why not
Why not
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Infamous607 I didn't want to be attached to a needy person amongst other things.

@FreddieUK makes sense. Thank you.

It's not disturbing now, but it was back then. My parents gave me to a 24/7 hour treatment home, far away from where they lived, yet my father promised me that he would come visit me if I needed it. When I asked him to come, he found out that he wasn't allowed to. Secondly I found out that my parents no longer had any power over when I could come back home, it was up to the psychologist and staff. I cried myself to sleep for the next 3 years, until an older kid taught me what to reply to the psychologist and it eventually worked, and I was allowed back home. 😅

@Nightwings Wow. Your post is very heavy.
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@robbie2499 Sorry. 😅
I talk about my life now here on SW, but I never really talked about my past. Just felt like dropping a lore piece. 😆

as a case analyst at the prison, part of my job is to obtain the offenders crime version and enter it into the computer system. i had an offender tell me in detail how he kidnapped a 90 year old woman, raped her, put her in the trunk of her own car and drive around for hours before parking the car in the woods and then setting it on fire. he later found out the woman was the aunt of a state senator. he is serving a life sentence and his co-defendants received the death penalty.

@MayorOfCrushtown What a horrible thing to do. Why did he only get a life sentence?

@MaBalzEsHari not sure why you felt the need to troll my post but thank you

@Cigarguy I'm sorry you went through that, I can't even imagine. I hope you're doing alright nowadays. 🩵

That they murdered someone. I saw the actual murder I was looking through the blinds right outside my bedroom. but I didn't see the shooter. So he made sure to find me and tell me that I saw nothing that night. So I looked him in the eyes and said, "I didn't see anything". I was 10. Hes dead now, he was also murdered.

That question brings back some bad memories of things I have heard when counseling people. The most disturbing things have to do with sexual abuse some people suffered when children and teenagers.

@exexec I was gonna say the same thing.

A wacky guy from the old neighborhood admitted he was involved with a couple other guys in pulling a lever that routed a train from the main track to a maintenance spur. Then, they couldn't get it changed back. The train was coming, they panicked and ran like hell. The train derailed. It was quite the mess. Fortunately no one was killed. Everyone in the neighborhood had an idea who it was, but no one could ever prove it. He let it slip over a few cocktails decades later. I'm not sure if he was making it up or was actually involved, but my guess would be he was involved in some way. Karma caught up with him and he's deceased now.

They had their older child slap their younger child in the face because he was being inappropriate.
She was 9 and he was only 4.
The little boy needs boundaries not abuse, and don't turn the older child into an abuser.

That they saw their brother unalive their other brother when they were kids. 😨
Two guys on the late bus back from the city, talking about how they had attacked and raped another guy. We were just teenagers and these guys were known psychopaths.

@ostfuidctyvm How terrifying!

I was never in love with you, after decades of marriage

Americans who openly admit that they don't bother to vote in a Presidential Election, which of course is why Trump didn't lose the last Election.

Why do you have to say as the title says?
