I much prefer them to not being able to find anywhere to park. I know a couple of college campuses that refuse to build parking garages because they look ugly. So instead you had to park a couple of miles away and walk in. There are areas of towns I’ve lived in that I refuse to do business there because getting around the area and finding a place to park takes way more effort than any business I have there is worth.

@djjohnson Oh yeah, the college where I teach has had parking issues for years. There's been talks about building a parking garage at least a couple of times, but it never materialized.

The big public hospital for Newcastle (Oz not UK) has the entire carpark (even for staff) run by a private contractor. Staff have to pay for parking as well the general public. It's a scam.

The last time I was in one. It was pretty much the same. Only more security cameras and less chance of being robbed. We went into the elevator to go down and ended up in this small corridor in a mall that led out to a bigger mall. I guess we were having a good time yarning, we didn't take note of where we were. And spent 3 hours looking for the parking garage when we wanted to go home.

While I dont like the garages, we dont have that set of issues to any extent. I just dislike the cramped parking spots with concrete pillars on every turn and spaces with more pillars positioned so you cant open the car doors to exit the vehicle..😷

The one at my office is fine. If you don’t have a fob you don’t get in
There’s only one other that I will use and that’s at the mall near me. I park by the door and it’s always fairly busy so I’ve never worried.

Having parked in a lot of structures over the years, some are better than others. Most take a hot minute to figure out. I do hate when my access card beeps and the gate doesn't open...!

It all depends. Hate them typically but keeps my car out of the elements and some

There are some parking garages in downtown Seattle where I worked with sobering nicknames. There is the rape lot, drug lot, and suicide lot.
saragoodtimes · F
the mall and hospital have the only parking garages here. the mall has valet parking and I cheat and park in the DR's lot if I have to use the hospital
JustNik · 51-55, F
I don’t hate them, but I dislike walking through one alone. It’s creepy and I never feel safe.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
some have lanes that are way too narrow, making driving dangerous
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Better than not finding a spot to park
HannahSky · F
Yep, hate them. Dangerous.
chuck7882 · 61-69, M
Not safe at all. In many aspects
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
And what if it collapses 😩
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Agreed.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
It's better than parking on the street.

@latinbutterfly in NYC they park the car for you and bring it to you when you return. All for the bargain rate of $40+
latinbutterfly · F
@Slade $40? I think that's actually more than downtown Chicago. Average rate of about $30 .
Slade · 56-60, M
@latinbutterfly if you go off hours or overnight it's condiderably higher. Most have day set rates
