I asked about if not being attracted to them is racist and I think the majority was saying its not and its just a preference, which is fine

But what about [c=#BF0000]fetishizing[/c] a certain race?
Like white girls fetishizing black guys
Or white guys fetishizing Asians
Or black girls fetishizing white guys

Now im not talking about fetishizing them in the way of calling them slurs and actually being offensive with it
But like "Wow I've always loved [c=#003BB2]Asian[/c] girls and you're so beautiful"

Let me know your thoughts

If they’re viewing members of a certain race as nothing more than sexual objects, then yes, I would say that’s a form of racism. But having preferential attraction toward another race, that’s not racist. I wouldn’t consider that fetishizing, but I think people have different definitions on what fetishizing is.

I tend to find Latinas attractive. I’m even married to one. But for expressing my affinity for Latinas, I’ve been accused of fetishizing them and my wife. I disagree, but I’ll leave that up to you on what you consider fetishizing.

I can't really speak for anyone but myself, but my general observation as a white man of white men is, if minorities give a white guy a hard-on and nothing more, that is potentially very racist - in other words, if the white guy likes fucking black girls or Asians, but doesn't like them or want to date them when not having sex, he is racist. This seems to be the way a lot of white guys behave.

Could there be other ways of approaching interracial sex or relationships? Sure.

It all depends on how the person feels inside about what they're doing, and not everyone in general feels the same way about anything.

it’s not exactly racist but there is some racist cases. being sexually turned on by someone of a different race doesn’t mean a person can’t be racist. a guy i was dating would always ask these really weird questions about my country and i didn’t really think too much of it. then later on the shit he would say when we talked about sex was just terrible, extremely racist, and biased.

my case wasn’t even the worst. my black friend was dating a white guy and she told me he wanted to roleplay as a slave owner and she as a slave. and he would call her the N word with a hard R at times. a bunch of other things. she dropped his ass a long time ago thankfully.

but to sum it up, yes and no. it’s very rare to come across someone who has a fetish towards a race without it being racist

@SW-User that is so terrible oh my god... I'm so sorry

Well the way I define racism is believing in a superiority in one race over another, or defining others only by their race, discriminating against or thinking negatively about others based soley on their race.

So I'd say it's just a preference. For instance I find eastern asian women particularly beautiful because I like the way they look. You just like what you like and acknowledging that and observing what is true is fine 🤷‍♂️ attraction is the most discriminatory thing we do as humans and it's in our biology.

Now you could make a case that attributing positive things that aren't true to a region of people might be in the same ball park but that's just due to a lack of knowledge. I've had people do the same to me because of my British accent and they've made assumptions about who I am based off of my nationality, but that's not "racist" or whatever the equivilent is to that. We make assumptions sometimes based off whatever little information we have, we can't be all knowing.

I just stick to my definition in the first paragraph, otherwise we get caught up in "is this racist?!, what about that!? omg!?" lol.
Yes. Its definitely soft racism. Assuming because Im black Ive got a giant dick and seeking me out because you think those two things are true is perpetuating antirace mixing propaganda from the 1930s
SW-User
@MalcolmY It is not soft racism. That's like saying you're racist if you like girls with brown eyes. And by the way, judging by the nude selfie you've just posted, you don't want people to assume you've got a giant dick. You're keen to confirm the stereotype...
@SW-User Nude selfies arent about weird incels looking at my dick. Get the fuck outta here with that shit.

I consider it just being attracted. I personally being a white guy am attracted to mainly white women. I have seen a few very pretty people of color, you being one of them. I think your quite beautiful. I don't think im fetishizing you though lol
SW-User
No that is not racist. That simply means you are attracted to someone who looks a certain way, be it shape of face, colour of eyes, colour of skin, etc.
Keysha · 22-25, F
@SW-User my bad 😂
Keysha · 22-25, F
@SW-User i think what I meant was preference. I don't know exactly what I meant. Like you want to be with every Asian girl and think about them being beautiful everytime
Which i guess is like sexually objectifying women through racial preference. Idk I'm confusing myself at this point so take my op however you want to 😂

@Keysha I'd suggest this definition suits:

fetish - noun - a form of sexual desire in which gratification depends to an abnormal degree on some object or item of clothing or part of the body

I.e. A form of sexual desire in which gratification depends to an abnormal degree on race.

I'm still fairly certain this is not racist or a problem... Sexual desire isn't something we can control. If it were then we could say being gay (A form of sexual desire in which gratification depends to an abnormal degree on sex/gender) would be sexist, which it clearly isn't.

So no, to fetishise a race is not racist.
I guess it is judging someone by their race but it doesn't feel like racism.
Racism has all those negative connotations about hatred, discrimination, fear etc.

I guess it's a little dehumanizing but that goes for any fetishizing (like big boobs, lesbians or gays) so i suppose if it's equally dehumanizing across the board then it's not discrimination and therefore not racist ?lol
I would say it's not, unless the only worth they see in a person is as a bed accessory.

Racism:
Prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.

The belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another.
Interesting point of view...

I think it can be racist when a person goes out of their way to make it a point that they "Only date black guys" or "Only speak to Asian women".

We all have types, that's just nature. But, I have learned tgat generally those types can exist in just about any race, if you keep your eyes and mind open.

@Keysha idk. I have an extreem weakness for black girls.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
I think everyone does it to some extent, society is so consumed by stereotypes (many of which are false) that they have certain expectations about a particular race
GOJOO · M
Everything is racist in this world
Stay in your home stay safe or some Jihadi Allahu Akbar guy will discriminate you and blast with you😀😀
Adstar · 56-60, M
Depends who is defining racism.. It's a pretty lose term these days.. More dependant on politics then anything real..
jackson55 · M
I dated a black girl in high school, we took heat from both sides. I still get Christmas cards from her.

I’ve always been partial to East Asian men. Most of my crushes over the years have been of that ethnicity. It’s not about any preconceived notions tho or stereotypes. I just physically find many of their features attractive. But I guess the water can get muddy with certain things or the way people discuss stuff. I personally find some of the groups here fetishize black men specifically for white women or their white husbands.
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Yes. And that weirdness between black and white has translated to lynchings but even in its current fetish form its harmful. Black men and white women can be friends without your hubby thinking you are making him a cuck. But that weirdness is pervasive.
