I have been in 2.1st I was 5 years old and my dad and I went over a 300 foot cliff. The second I was 23, and I hydroplane and crashed my grand new Audi:-/ I was not hurt in that one though.

Been hit by one. I was on my mountain bike.

Bike written off, I ended with serious bruising, moderate cuts and scrapes from hitting the road.

December 2nd, 2002. Minutes from home after picking up Dad's birthday present. He turned 54 that day.
@SimpleKiwiGirl I can understand that 🤷🏻‍♀️.
SimpleKiwiGirl · 51-55, F
@latinbutterfly Never saw or heard it coming. Screech of brakes, then a deathly silence. And that feeling / sensation...

Was in a residential zone where speed limit is 50kph. Even with brakes, car hit me (well, bike really) at just over 40.

Can still recall the whole thing. Make/model/colour of car. Licence plate. Driver and what he was wearing.
@SimpleKiwiGirl Wow, that is vivid...
Once, I fell asleep driving on the highway and flipped my car down the embankment. I had a seatbelt on and only had minor injuries
@FreeSpirit1 It's good that you had a seatbelt on...
One. Got run off the road - the car rolled at least twice...was wearing my seatbelt and walked away without a scratch. Plenty of scared, but not a scratch.

Yes... twice. 😳

No car accident but a motorcycle accident.
I was on my way to work and a lady ran the stop sign. She was about to pinch my leg off with her bumper. I pulled hard to the right and ended up in a cemetery, dodging headstones. Hell of a ride. Broke my arm, she got a ticket.
Echoing · 61-69, F
Yes, I know.@SweetMae I got a new bike too out of the deal. But all the lady could say is... I was late for work, I did not see you. I replied.. nor the stop sign!! wow..
@Echoing Ay dios mio! 😬
Echoing · 61-69, F
@latinbutterfly oh my God is correct 🤨
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I have been in five. Each time the car was totaled. I was driving the last time but stopped at a stopped sign.
@SweetMae Oh wow 😳
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@latinbutterfly I was injured in three of those.
I have, motorcycle wrecks, too. They're really not scary. You just do what you have to do in the moment. The fear comes later when you think about it.

3, all far apart and all proven by insurance and police there was nothing I could do to prevent them.
curiosi · 61-69, F
Several, the most recent happened not long ago. I was a passenger, we were driving down a main road when someone pulled out of a side street and swiped us. I saw the whole thing in slow motion and was helpless to do anything.
It was a young kid, tried to say the accident was our fault, the cops weren't buying it as it was obvious what happened.
@curiosi Wow, the audacity of that young person...
redredred · M
Several, one spectacularly resulted in me trapped in a car that had its gas tank ruptured resulting in the car covered in gasoline, fully engulfed in a roaring blaze and me trapped inside because the doors were jammed shut.

I finally managed to hammer out a window with my elbow and dive out. It was not my best day.
@redredred 😬😬😬

@latinbutterfly After I got out, the fire melted the ignition switch shorting out to the starter motor. Since l left it in gear, the car started up the road under the power of the starter just as the FD arrived. The firefighters had to chase the car to put out the fire.
Only little ones where nobody got injured.
Yep, none of them were deemed my fault.
dreamsicle · 46-50, F

RoxClymer · 41-45, M
2 that I can remember, I was like 6 the first time when a druggy rear ended the family econo box VW, then when I was 20 I was driving on a dirt road, tire blew out and slammed my car side-on into a tree

then there was the time I got run over while riding my bike

never been seriously injured in a car wreck though
SW-User
Yes was rear ended once on the highway. I think I’m still alive because we just came back from a trip and I had a ton of luggage in my trunk to shield the hit
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
that is amazing, my dad always said that if you drive long enough you will eventually get a traffic ticket and get into a crash
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
Yes, a person rear ended a car that went into my family's minivan. Pretty jarring lol
That and a couple of heliocopter crashes..
@Experienced33 Oh my 👀...
smiler2012 · 61-69

Twice. Rear ended while sitting stopped at a red light minding my own business, BOTH TIMES. Different lights, different idiots.
