Have you ever been in a car accident?

I never have, thank goodness. I can't imagine how scary that may be.

Been hit by one. I was on my mountain bike.

Bike written off, I ended with serious bruising, moderate cuts and scrapes from hitting the road.

December 2nd, 2002. Minutes from home after picking up Dad's birthday present. He turned 54 that day.

Physically, I was fine within 4 or 5 days. But, otherwise... Following 13 months, I left the house just three times. Two of those, to go to the letterbox. A mere 35 second walk, there and back to door.

@latinbutterfly Never saw or heard it coming. Screech of brakes, then a deathly silence. And that feeling / sensation...

Was in a residential zone where speed limit is 50kph. Even with brakes, car hit me (well, bike really) at just over 40.

Can still recall the whole thing. Make/model/colour of car. Licence plate. Driver and what he was wearing.
