About 10 miles.
Way back in my drunken days I took a vehicle without asking.
Walking home about 1 am, I was about 500 metres from home when I walked past this vehicle and saw the keys were in the ignition.
Stupid, drunken 17 year old me thought I would drive the rest of the way home.
I drove straight past my house and went for a ride out of town.
Going too fast, I failed to take a corner and ran off the road and was stopped by a tree.
80 metres below me was the Henty River, if the tree had not stopped me I would have plunged into the fast flowing river.
The tree saved my life and I walked back to town, which took about 4 hours.
The dumb things drunks do.

@alan20 Sure was. I have had a few instances where maybe I should have died. Pure luck sees me still here. 🙂
