We got no trick or treaters last night, and even left the light on. Last year, there was only one group, and we had no candy. But this year, I made sure we had some…and was disappointed that no one showed.
It's different now. Adults have co-opted Halloween and in a lot of places they've moved the kids celebration to controlled environments. They're not out going door to door as much. Maybe it's fearful parents or just the ease of 'one stop shopping.'
It's not something I celebrate outwardly like I used to, but in my secret heart I still feel giddy about Halloween. I wish it was a whole month and not just a day.
@PoisonLace It’s when businesses, churches, or neighborhoods host trick-or-treating in a gathered area and everyone passes out candy from their cars. It’s safer that kids don’t go to strangers’ houses.
