Quiet night in?
Ever since we began fostering her nearly two years ago, our daughter's Friday afternoon routine has been almost completely unaltered.
Slam front door - Hurl school bag in corner - Start to change out of school uniform - Start furiously doing homework half dressed so it does not encroach on precious weekend time - Appear for dinner in ordinary clothes or pyjamas, depending on whether she wants to go out again.
Today . . shoes, socks and blazer scattered on hall floor. Encouraging sounds of industry emerging from behind bedroom door. If she choses to go out again after dinner I know it won't be far or for long because she has gymnastics early tomorrow. But I'd quietly be pleased if she eventually appears in her nightie . . perhaps we can watch a film together and drink hot chocolate 🤗
