Quiet night in?

Ever since we began fostering her nearly two years ago, our daughter's Friday afternoon routine has been almost completely unaltered.

Slam front door - Hurl school bag in corner - Start to change out of school uniform - Start furiously doing homework half dressed so it does not encroach on precious weekend time - Appear for dinner in ordinary clothes or pyjamas, depending on whether she wants to go out again.

Today . . shoes, socks and blazer scattered on hall floor. Encouraging sounds of industry emerging from behind bedroom door. If she choses to go out again after dinner I know it won't be far or for long because she has gymnastics early tomorrow. But I'd quietly be pleased if she eventually appears in her nightie . . perhaps we can watch a film together and drink hot chocolate 🤗

Stressful no doubt.
But stick with it.
She probably doesn't have the communication skills nor the confidence to 'let you in' on her worries and fears.

But she will.

@Picklebobble2 She doesn't cause us much stress at all. She's so focused on her sports and other activities that she doesn't have much scope to go off the rails. But she's growing up so fast and it's quite difficult to keep up with her!
