It doesn't sound like her bedside manner is the best.

mrwhiterabbit · 46-50, M
It's not mean she should have called you obese. Its real and if you don't do something about it there are real consequences. That doesn't mean you should stop loving yourself but you should thank her for being straight with you

@SensitiveGirl96 Aren't you old enough to change your primary care doctor? I've changed twice during the last two years.

@SensitiveGirl96 Keep going. Look for a doctor who accepts that you don't want to struggle to change your weight.
kyky16 · 22-25, F
She shouldn’t have spoken to you like that. She should of just said you need to exercise for your health because you are at risk of blah blah blah. However she is right. At you height you shouldn’t weigh that much unless you are a body builder. And your excess fat could lead to health issues and cause you to have a heart attack or stroke at a young Age. You could simply start off by cutting out soda and junk food and also walk a mile a day after work or school. Then once your body adjust to that, cut out all processed food and eat all fresh food and walk one and a half miles. You will drop weight. And you should also drink at least 3 liters of water a day and eat 5 times a day but eat smaller portions. It’s very simple and not that hard actually

Hate to say this, but your username is self explanatory. Change your lifestyle. Your doctor may have stepped over the line a bit, but at least she cares enough to say something

@SensitiveGirl96 im not trying to be rude. My personality is said to just be abrasive. I don’t sugar coat things so it’s going to come off rude

@SensitiveGirl96 they kinda have a point though. You can’t be too sensitive. You won’t get anywhere in life. If someone is overly sensitive they will let everyone control them by what they say. Which is not good. You need a thicker skin and don’t let everyone upset you. But certain thing such as health, you should listen. From just talking to you on here, I can tell that people have tried to tell you you need to change your health in a nice sugar coated way but you didn’t listen to them so now they have to be more abrasive about it. And you need to listen.
Well this doctor should not have harped on you for weight , she is right in a way but there are ways of saying things that are NOT counter productive - I am sure you are aware and dont need someone like a medical professional to nag at you. Instead the doctor should have given you some solutions. She dosent sound like a doc that I would want to go to - just change your PCP and find someone that is not nasty.

Guess she could have said you were too short for your weight. 🤔

@SensitiveGirl96 if you look at my other comment I wrote about how you could slowly change your weight

Since in your user name you call yourself fat, you can hardly blame the doctor for thinking and declaring the same thing.

@SensitiveGirl96 you know the tone it was said in,
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
You have what doctors generally refer to as "a little bit of a weight problem."

@SensitiveGirl96 Well, under the circumstances, maybe she didn't feel it was appropriate to "candy-coat" what she felt she had to say.

@TeenGirl01 I agree - adding calories without burning it off is going to add weight. But you have to eat the right calories -

it probably means you're fat.

edit: sarcasm aside, no doctor should speak to a patient like that. it's unprofessional. also, idk why i'm responding like this because i know you're a troll.

So what is your problem? It's you name on here...
Willomk1 · 46-50, M
are you happy with your weight
On one hand, what she had to say was unprofessional and hurtful. On the other, as your doctor she is responsible for your care and has no doubt seen the health problems that often result from the extra weight and is trying to wake you up so that you get a handle on it now, while you're a young woman. The fact that you are resistant and embracing the weight rather than helping her help you become the healthiest you can be is probably why she is being particularly forceful about it. From her perspective she may figure better to risk hurting your feelings now than have to give you bad news later about complications that will shorten your life.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
Considering a woman of your height should be half your weight, I would consider cutting back on the junk food and increasing physical activity.
