I think it was dashboard confessional and counting crows last year
hunkalove · 61-69, M
I think it would have been The Clash at Red Rocks in about 1980.
@hunkalove i think 1980 was my first concert....cheap trick maple leaf gardens
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@beermeplease 1966 was my big year for concerts. I saw Bob Dylan and The Hawks, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles twice. My first was The Kinks in a high school gymnasium in Decatur, Illinois. I got to hang out with them before and after the show.
@hunkalove cool...60s was an amazing time i'm sure. in my opinion music kind of died in the early 90s. my taste includes the 60s to early 90s. but i really love the 70s and 80s cus that's what i grew up with
robertsnj · 56-60, M
Parliament Funkadelic really long time ago. That band is on another level live compared to recorded music. I remember some guy yelling play aqua boogie from time to time.
dubkebab · 51-55, M
@robertsnj I smoked a doob with George Clinton and he whisked me into the side door for free once.
Ain't no faking the funk !
robertsnj · 56-60, M
@dubkebab wow ! He is such an amazing performer!
@ImpeccablyImperfect sweet.... i was at at a bar a couple of weeks ago that did covers of the eagles...they were fantastic...
dubkebab · 51-55, M
I've run sound for a couple of local folk and bluegrass shows locally, but the last actual badass gig I went to was Amyl and the Sniffers last year. It was savage.Restored my faith in Rock n' Roll.

Evanescence on Oct 24, 2006. It’s been a long time.
@DarkHeaven i love iron maiden. number of the beast was the first record i ever bought with my allowance money and power slave tour was the first concert i was allowed to go to without my older brother... only if mom knew how much weed me and my buddy smoked that day/night
@beermeplease yeah, I’m a big metal head and Maiden fan. I’m from a rural community and when I was young, I liked country… towards the end of that was the Dixie Chicks. When I got into middle school age, I started rebelling against my country roots and got into The Cure, Depeshe Mode, and the Smiths. The Cure was my shit for all my dark angsty whatever. I also really got into metal like Iron Maiden. and then towards the end of the 80’s and into the 90’s industrial metal launched that married the dark angst of bands like the Cure to a crazy industrial metal sound with my two favorite band being TOOL and nine inch nails. Fucking love those bands and when I first started playing in bands and writing music, it was in that vein. My first band was punk metal, my second band was industrial metal more like KMFDM, and my last band was more a melodic industrial metal somewhere between Evanescence and NIN. We gained real traction at the time (was around 2006) but my life exploded and the band died. Sad because I’ve still to this day never heard anything like what we were.
@DarkHeaven so cool. keep music close to your heart. that's one thing that is a natural drug that can make us feel better for what ails us...later i will smoke a big fat joint and listen to songs on my headphones...i will melt on my couch and forget about all the stuff that bothers me.... i know you've been going through some "stuff" and hardship... but feel to reach out and join me
