There’s no point having a military base in Germany that will stand by and do nothing when the Russians enter Germany.
Regan would be spinning in his grave.
Sure, get the Americans out.

@DazzaTheHutt MAGA is an anti-Reagan party.
Send the nukes back too. If the US doesn't want to defend Europe then it shouldn't have the ability to deploy from Europe.
Don't get me wrong, I fully agree with America demanding that Europe step up on defence. America shouldn't be bankrolling our security. What I could never agree with is if Trump attempts to sell out Ukraine with a deal that gives Putin the platform upon which to further threaten the security of the whole continent. If that is the case then we should certainly not be contributing to American security by hosting American military assets in Europe.

I think that's the direction we're moving towards. Either Europe fills the gap or China will do.
BrandNewMan · M
@Elessar Its about time Europe take on a more appropriate level of responsibility for its own defense.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@BrandNewMan Agreed. So far the major powers seem in agreement at least

Every country? Not in China. Jack Ma, the Chinese equivalent of Elon Musk, had his wings clipped by Xi Jinping and slipped into oblivion. China's government of the people reigns supreme.
The military industrial complex is an unique American phenomenon. Like a dumb American, you live under the impression that every foreign country is a version of America's sick socio-economic setup.
While the US dollar continues to cede ground to nontraditional currencies in global foreign exchange reserves, it remains the preeminent reserve currency. 60% of foreign exchange reserves are still in the USD. 20% are in the Euro. Together, the west holds 80% of foreign exchange reserves and this reflect its dominant role in international commerce. 50% of global payment processed by Swift are in US Dollars.
77% of US debt is held by Americans (domestic), and only 23% is held by other parties outside the country (foreign). Japan holds the most US foreign debt at US$1.1 trillion. China, once the major holder, has been dumping USD because we view them as a threat and it now holds US$768 billion and decreasing.
Trump is our best bet when it comes to restoring America as the dominant player in the world in every which way. He is the quintessential American, the exceptionally creative and driven human being the world has ever known.
LOL, you're forgetting that in every country, the military and business holds more sway than the government.

While yes it would be a positive for Europe and the Gulf States to boot out the Americans, the business and intelligence lobbies have a lot of vested interests they will not let go of.

The US is basically finished as a currency as the BRICS have a bigger trade than most others have with the US these days. Trumps tarrifs making it worse, of course. Hence why Trump is resorting to isolationist threats.

China's Deepseek and 6G has pretty much cemented US tech in permanent decline, and China owns most US debt.

Pretty much it's a case of the US in flames, with Trump and co trying for one last payday for themselves, before it all vanishes.

Militarily this is probably is good idea.. Would you want a hundred or so potential enemy bases behind your lines if war broke out with Russia tomorrow? I am betting a few nations are factoring this into their war plans right now...😷
Reject · 26-30, M
Us Americans will get what we deserve. They voted for him so Trump can’t take all the blame.
Khenpal1 · M
@Reject Trump is chaos, chaos is not good for business . Now you even buy eggs from Turkey 😂One thing is having ideas , the other is implementing them in proper way. I guess Elon may be soon fall under Tesla Bus. Dollar was already in decline for sometime. Russia will never stop wars or give up on China.
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
It’s turn of events I never thought I’d live to see. The US selling out the last of its friends to hop into bed with Russia. A Russia that openly despises them.

@WintaTheAngle as a kid who grew up in the 1980s under Reagan, this is especially jarring.

Regardless , all emperies parish 😁

Certainly Americans hurt the most when you hurt them in the pockets.

I don't think it will take decades, but rather months if push came to shove in replacing the US Dollar for something more identifiably common to the rest of the world... like the Euro even. Let the USA have their own currency but it's value is based on nothing but good looks, red ties and a lot of orchestrated charm, but not gold.
