I'm still waiting for anyone to rationally explain a plausible defense of how anyone on the left is "dividing" anybody ... or how even a centrist like Biden is doing such for that matter.
What is it that the left and center does that the right and far right just cannot accept and instantly labels as "division"?
What is it that the left and center supports that the right and far right feels like they are somehow forced to do themselves, when in reality they can continue to live the way they want to live, while everyone else is also indulged with the same privilege as the right and far right?
Or what is it that the left and center are not willing to let the right and far right do to everyone else, because the right and far right don't actually have a legitimate right to do it, and which they then just label as "division" because they don't get their way?
I think this idea that "both sides" are "dividing" the country is BS. It's the right wing that, for instance, thinks that if they are not allowed to meddle in the lives of gay people they don't even know, then that is just "communism", even though gay people are not a type of economic system and the Invisible Grooming Hand of the Glorious Free Market is still determining the price of gas. Change my mind.

@SW-User I totally agree with this. It is the right who supposedly clamor for "freedom", while trying to take away the rights of others in this country.
Honestly, I think we're going to be in really bad shape for awhile, but I don't see a complete destruction even plausible until after the 2024 election and it's aftermath.
Not to say that the US won't be a really bad place to be as soon as the fall and certainly by the Winter, between aftermath of this silliness that just got started on the House, the SCOTUS possibly opening up open carry nationwide, and the almost inevitable challenges to the midterms (I think Republicans will take both houses, but Dems may challenge every election,
because "you've got to fight fire with fire" and all that jazz), but even if Garland has the guts to indict Trump, I don't see a hot civil war happening, or the US actually falling anytime soon, i.e., within the next decade or so.
And by that time, I think we'll likely be a very different country, for better or worse.

The more and more I see the media with these dumbass ass politicians on both sides it just makes me realize how close we are to collapsing as a nation. We are so divided.
This is why we're failing. Bothsidesism is leading us to Fascism.

The US will only fall if the Republicans get back in within the next ten years.

I think so. I think there are a lot of things going on here, but I think economic factors will ultimately be the driver of our downfall. People don't feel like there is a future anymore. They just want to hold onto what they have. That kind of thinking will bring the end.

America has always been divided but we are stronger because of our diversity.

A Revolution which, despite what the books said, wasn't hugely supported initially. Indian wars. The Civil War. Vietnam and Watergate. Iran, Iraq.
America's history is long. Its citizens' is not. If we survive, which is likely, we'll be changed. If we don't survive, it rests squarely on our shoulders.

@sunsporter1649 it’s not just biden. It’s both of the stupid ass parties. It’s sad seeing this amazing (well…once was) nation get divided right in front of our eyes. Yet we continue to divide ourselves.

It wouldn’t surprise me. It will be totally deserved, though.

I believe it will divide. There's going to be a second civil war, and we will end up with the liberals and centrists living in one country and the far right loonies living in the other.
