Imagine walking all the way down there and realizing no one replaced an empty roll of toilet paper in an emergency...

That bathroom is an architect’s afterthought. I once looked at a home for sale and the main bathroom had the toilet in a separate room next to the shower & sink, it was in a narrow room like that but not nearly as long. I said “who designs a bathroom like this?” And we left.

That's probably somewhere in Europe, lots of really old houses there, the toilet was put in after the place got running water. Even in the more modern homes the toilet is often in it's own separate room with a door.
