It's the problem of tribalism in the digital age. People form heuristics based on pattern recognition that allows them to categorize others into ordered groups. It doesn't really leave room for nuance since critical thinking is mentally taxing and wasteful from a resource-conservation angle that our bodies all too often default to. We operate on instinct and bias for the most part.

When these reactions to liberals/Democrats are reached, it's usually in response to trigger words and dog-whistles. We're an information-based society that consume media that makes us feel good. When it comes to politics, we like things that reinforce our worldview. So we're always either explicitly shown or gravitate towards stories of extremism because the media understands that sensationalism sells. People are emotionally primed to respond to threats and when they're repeatedly shown tales of SJW extremes, this confirmation bias lets them believe that they represent the entire group.

The same is true not just of the left/right divide, but a lot of different group dynamics. Our brains definitely have room for more than two categories of people. It's just a matter of embracing complexity and listening critically for people to break these monolithic ideas of what the other side is all about

They pretend to be better than the Republicans by claiming they are all for social justice and equal rights etc when in reality they are exactly the same as the Republicans. Money grubbing and corrupt. They don't actually care about those things they just say them to get votes so they can be in power and continue their lifestyle.

I personally dislike both parties.
Bingo!👍️👍️👍️@Ananke

One thing I dislike about liberals is they want to share with people who did not contribute, which isn’t bad in and of itself, but they take the capital of people who worked to earn it and give it away to those who did not earn it.

I really do not identify as a democrat even though I am registered as one ...but I am a liberal ..to me both dems and repubs are one in the same ...* disillusioned*

I use to be a Democrat. Straight up they cockblock everything and want money for every little thing. They’ll invent something to give money to. That’s my thoughts.
Blondgrl2004 · 26-30, F
maybe they are turning communistic, Free everything to everyone. No longer believe in our Flag, Just watch the dem debates. not a flag in site. They no longer like America. They want to make this a communistic country. For proof, all you need to do is do research and watch what is happening in America.

@Bagalamaga they are getting there, trying to stop the right from posting things on social media. It is starting. You my friend better think what you are asking for. Refusing to accept a duly elected president? Interfering and spying on Trump during an election and blaming it on Trump? Obama getting the FBY to try and get him out of office? Do your research
Bagalamaga · 56-60, M
@Blondgrl2004 im not a democrat. I actually like Trump. I just don’t like when people compare American politics to communism because it silly. I did live in a communist country for 25 years. These power struggles were always present,it’s just made into a reality show these days. That’s the only difference

@Blondgrl2004 if you look at the political spectrum honestly in the US...you will see how wrong you are.

It's U.S. election year.

'Republican supporters/Trolls' flooded social media with this kind of messaging in the lead up to the election in 2016.

it shows how much hate there is in America now.

Sadly those saying the words do not see how low their words have them appear to others.
But the hate is based all on personal opinions.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@canusernamebemyusername Yeah. Most of the shit talking I observe on this site for example are from trolls who can't even come up with any facts, lol.
