WTF is a "smuckers"?

I'm told a "JIF" is peanut butter, but why are they making them both into a flavour of popcorn?

@KiwiDan USA versions: Basically jellies are made with the only juice of a fruit, jams are made with the whole fruit and have the fruit solids as part of the spread. Not sure what the Brits call our jams. And Brit jelly is our gelatin, most usually Jell-O.

@ChipmunkErnie And then there are "preserves" and "marmalades" and occasional fruit "curds" which are often used in the same ways as jams and jellies.

@DrawntoaDistance i ... think and i suppose i should google that marmalade is a process tomhandle higher levels of acidity from things like citrus fruits, jams use a higher portion of the actual fruit, and the American form of jelly is typically based on fruit juice and pectin as a solidifying agent.

@DrawntoaDistance marmalaid is specifically for citrus-y fruits. Whereas Jam typically has crushed and pureed fruit in it, marmalaid will also include thin slices of the peel to provide a touch of bitterness.

Smucker's is an overpriced jam/preserve that is basically a fruit Juice or in the case of preserves, fruit, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Fruit Pectin, Citric Acid. All nicely packed with a high sugar content.
