It takes a lot less mental effort to insult and dismiss someone than it does to defend your position with civility and logic

So the next time you meet someone on the internet who disagrees with you, just call them a bunch of names and then block them. It's easier than having to think

What is there to gain exactly in defending words against a nobody?

Especially those countries away.

At this point I don't see any value. And those who come to me with disrespect can expect the block button. Because I kinda love myself too much to waste efforts on irrelevancy anymore.

I have enough to focus on.

@Miram You could make them look stupid. Set an example for everyone else. I always take a little bit of pleasure in running laps around bad arguments

@TinyViolins I used to do that but retired. It is part of why I have many haters in the site especially older folks. They don't like confrontation and being made to feel wrong.

@Miram Yeah, I imagine the toxicity builds up over time. Not good for your mental health when you butt heads with so many buttheads. I guess I don't use this site often enough to tip myself over the edge.

You also gotta pick your battles wisely. Some people are just going to repeat the same talking points no matter what you say, so it's best to say nothing.

I usually prefer to go after the people that are particularly mean and nasty. If they're going to make other people's lives miserable, then I'm going to make theirs just as bad. I realize I can be pretty vindictive that way
