Knocked out

When I was 28 I was visiting my OH relatives, her cousins and her aunts were at the home. One of her cousins was a lot younger than us, he was like 10 or 11. He was there with is friend who was same age as them and they were practising karate. So I put on the armor and decided to have a spar with the little guy as he was new to the karate. After I got on the body armor and the helmet, which had a gap at the jaw, about 10 seconds later, he hit me right on the jaw with an open hand and I was out like a light. I tried to find some excuses but couldn't come up with any.

Aww that sucks. I have jaw issues and the pain or vertigo can be awful. Im glad you were ok. Was it sore after?
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Wol62 Ty for best comment 🌸 I usually use a cold pack or ice pack but if I have extreme pain I take a medication called Flexeril. It does help.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Coralmist Glad...glad that you could find some relief and no problem about the best comment.
Steph34 · 31-35, F
@Coralmist I imagine his pride was severely bruised.

Rilyn · 31-35, F
Bha ha omg. The visual I had in my mind came out of a comedy movie 🤣
Steph34 · 31-35, F
@Rilyn Yes, it certainly has that feeling to it. 10 years old? Oh my, how embarrassing for him.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Steph34 Ha ha, very funny.🤷‍♀️
Steph34 · 31-35, F
@Wol62 Well I bet no one wanted to fight that kid after word of this got out. So you probably made his life easier and I am sure you suffered no ill effects. Just a bruised ego, am I right?
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
don't challenge the young, even if you have armor. 🤣
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
@Wol62 You making laugh too much. My side is starting to heart.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@maskedbandit OK OK I get it.
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
@Wol62 @Wol62 🙂
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
" I tried to find some excuses but couldn't come up with any."

How about, "I have a glass jaw."...? 🤔
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Wol62

Poetic license. 🤭
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Thinkerbell Right, the kid just got lucky and I was unlucky.
Steph34 · 31-35, F
@Wol62 Yeah right! The kid just happened to hit you once and you were out for the count? I don't know what is funnier, what happened or the limerick about it.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
Did everyone laugh?
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Primnproper That it would end like that? I mean I was jetlagged.
Steph34 · 31-35, F
@Primnproper I'm visualizing the scene now and I am laughing and I wasn't even there.
Steph34 · 31-35, F
@Primnproper That one floored me.
Piper · 61-69, F
OH well! Evidently you survived your uncoerced "spar" with a 10 or 11 year old.
Piper · 61-69, F
@Wol62 Soooo...you decided to have a spar with the "little guy", "walked into" an open handed slap, got knocked out, and you're still fuming over it and calling the kid a brat. Is that about right?
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Piper Welll, I would not put it quite like that...
Piper · 61-69, F
@Wol62 I didn't expect you would, yet that is just how you've presented it with your own words...minus the word "fuming".
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
"Ahhh ok, well bet yo don't have the guts to write that in public, I am not just saying that for the coins!"

As you wish, Wollie...

No, I didn't witness it, but I think I would have enjoyed it if I had.

(after making sure your glass jaw wasn't seriously hurt, of course) 🤭

It can happen.... Anyone can be knocked out if you hit the right pressure point/nerve bundle. But yeah, it's unnerving (pun intended) to have an opposite outcome to what you initially expected 😅
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
Kids are built different now 🤣🤣
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Beautyinbroken That is what it felt like, they were filming the fight and yes, they did slow down that bit! The fight lasted all of 6 seconds. His mom was like "aggggggggghhhh...wahhhhhhhhh...ohhhhhhhh...hahahahahahahhahahahahahhahaha...OMG...he's out cold...awesome!"
Beautyinbroken · 36-40, F
@Wol62 thanks for the laugh I need them more and more these days
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Beautyinbroken Sorry to read that, but I didn't need to be laughed at that day. Yup, both he and his mom thought it was "awesome". She told the other kids at his dojo and everyone treated him with respect...they feared him after that.
Wow The little one was a natural!!
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Furiosa A little brat you mean!
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@Wol62

Watch out... he's a LOT bigger now. 🤭
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Thinkerbell Ha ha very funny. Sure would like to give him a piece of my mind.
Teachocolate · 51-55, F
Just say wow amazing!!Can I learn from you??😂
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Teachocolate Well his mom, was like wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...aggggggghhhhhhhhhhh...ohhhhhhhhhh...hahahahahahahahahahahaha...that was amazing!
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@Teachocolate Is that what you would have said?
calicuz · 56-60, M
I'm sure it was embarrassing at the moment, but in the long run it made you wiser.
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@calicuz Sure, but how would that make me wiser in any way????
calicuz · 56-60, M
@Wol62

Never underestimate an adversary. 😎
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@calicuz But the kid was only 10, what was I supposed to think?
DoctorCrazypants · 100+, M
I knew a toddler that did taikwon do and knocked out 15 200+ lb men. With a single kick
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@DoctorCrazypants Seriously?

@HumanEarth Yeah, he knocked me out at 11 am...by the time I came too, I was still in a fuge...we left the house at 1 pm, drove back to her parents house where we were staying. By 2pm I'd gone back to bed and slept right through to 8 am the next day. I must have been exhuasted.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
You weren't exhausted, your head was in recovery
Wol62 · 51-55, M
@HumanEarth Thanks, I can remember when he hit me, it was like a firework going off in my head.
