You might say that. Or you might say sins of the heart always come in pairs. Fool me once or twice shame on you fool me again and again shame on both of us.

In all awareness that I don't know everyone's inner person. The sins of the heart actually do seem the bigger problem these days than those below the waist.

Not for us real men, of course. We're too possesive slow and even at times stupid to chew our food and consider what's on our neighbor's plate at the same time. When we are digging a well we're only looking down.

Other than an unbreakable bond of lifelong infinite trust; when all that remains is a dependable awareness of what wrongs one can generally be trusted to do. Then it is no longer trust. It's a fool fooling a fool about who is more foolish and both: infinitely foolish.

I think we all have the ability to trust. But trust is not granted explicitly at the get-go. People must earn my trust through words that translate into consistent actions that match the words. Or close to it. I define a "relationship" in a general sense, as relationships are an interaction between two or more people or business entity. Could be a girlfriend, potential mate, family member, boss, company/service, etc.

If I say "It's hard to trust", that implies trust as I perceive it has been broken, perhaps multiple times, or even once if the relationship is a significant one. Such as a long-term spouse cheating on you. If it happens multiple times, I might need to roll my eyes back inside and look at me. Because I could be setting myself up unknowingly for let-downs based on how I choose to trust people. Sometimes we're too trusting because we don't give ourselves enough time to know a person or thing before trust can be clearly established. I've done that in my younger years. Or we're desperate. In that case we need to learn to love ourselves and do things that reduce dependency on others for validation. Volunteering and giving my time unconditionally to help others is one way to do that.

If I refuse to engage in relationships because I feel I cannot trust, then I lose out. I just need to go back and adjust my criteria. Once I work on myself, I may find I am aligning myself with healthier people who have decent values. Trustworthiness being one of them.

In matters of the heart? Absolutely. Trust no one who has not earned it through their actions. Words mean nothing.

I find it [i]very[/i] hard to trust. As much as I work on purging betrayal trauma, it's so hard to let it go.

For someone like me who built a wall higher than the wall of China, I would say yes, it's so damn hard to trust.

I'm not even sure tbh. I always thought relationships were stupid as a child, then i met a girl who broke that view entirely. And in the short and i suppose even the long run, it was beautiful for a long time. But ultimately, I should of stuck with what i thought. I'm in my early 20's and i honestly don't think i can ever let myself get that close to anyone ever again.

That's because people often beleive without knowing how to trust. Trust is developed over time and by asking the right questions.

Blind beliefs leads to failure, but blame goes to trust.
