I'm actually OK with most of that, but "even if he stays out all night"? I don't think so! A good, loyal, and supportive wife deserves a good, loyal, and faithful husband, who comes home at night!

@Musicman Even before cell phones they had a way to call the wife and let her know he wouldn’t be home and more importantly WHY. No excuse to let her sit and wait on him for dinner like my ex did a huge number of times. I figure if they don’t call and aren’t involved in something like a car accident or other emergency then they have no good excuse and don’t want to be questioned.

@Nimbus My mother was a housewife during that era. She worked as a substitute teacher, had two children and hated to cook. She was terrible at it. She delegated chores she hated, like starting supper, ironing, dusting, and more, to me as soon as I hit the 4th grade. She started every day by driving my father to work because they were sharing a car. Then every evening we had to pick him up.
