@Nimbus The article fails to mention CHILDREN, or that the wife is also working a job outside the home 8 hours a day and has to go grocery shopping after work, and is too freaking exhausted from cleaning the entire house all by herself on her weekends to COOK, at times. But...they were selling magazines...maybe some women bought into that. 馃槈

@Nimbus My mother was a housewife during that era. She worked as a substitute teacher, had two children and hated to cook. She was terrible at it. She delegated chores she hated, like starting supper, ironing, dusting, and more, to me as soon as I hit the 4th grade. She started every day by driving my father to work because they were sharing a car. Then every evening we had to pick him up.
