My New Pet Peeve

calling a business number and your complaint doesn't fit any of the number prompts. try getting a live human being on the phone.

I called a doctor's office and there was no billing prompt. Imagine that.
It is very hard to talk to a live person. When you do, it's harder to understand

Try calling a business to ask for technical support and the the first voice you hear is automated and saying the account number 100 times before the AI voice finally gets it. Very frustrating.

Haaaa, imagine that :)

Just a few days ago I had to call Walmart Pharmacy because the weather prohibited me from picking up a prescription and I was within a day of the "must be picked up by" date. So I wanted to make sure that they would hold it for pickup a few days longer. There was no selection in their menu that met my need, and every time I tried the something else the voice just sent me back to the beginning greeting, the "Thank you for calling ... " message and again having to listen to the same list of select options.

On about the 3rd go round, as I was trying to figure how to break out from that loop; and there must have been an auto-capture in their system that detected my heavy breathing and frustration. A real person picked up!

With the A.I. coming into play... wonder what is ahead for all of it? I hate calling the numbers also , only to get the runaround then cut off.....grr.

@heavyone2 yesterday i called medicare. but who i needed was medicare coordination of benefits but REALLY needed BCRC which has NO direct line. figure that one out.

@akindheart It's only getting harder and harder to talk to a live person and they want you to just go away and be satisified with what they give you... not what is owed to you. I tell anyone "remember, it's YOUR money that is paid into the system... retrieve it".. before it's taken away.
