I Hated Bath Night as a Kid

Honestly, Sunday nights before school started again on Monday were the absolute worst, especially when my parents or my older brother would keep me in the tub long after the water had gone cold, just to make sure I looked perfect for school....

Once a week on saturday nite whether I needed it or not.

It was after Hockey Night in Canada and before Creature Feature! ☺️

almost everything you say as a kid was precisely the same in our house of a sunday .😣 being the eldest i went in last after my two sisters and brother . by that time you can imagine the water is cool and scummy [airforce687]

I’ve heard this before about Sunday night bath night. Did you only have to take one bath a week?

One bath and just wash up the rest of the week unless you get really dirty , that wasn’t a good night for all either.@Jenny1234

The Sunday night scrub up. I remember that. Also the big stone cattle troughs used as cold baths at out farm boxing club. After a fight you would be dumped in the cold dump at age 12 that might be with the boy you just fought with.

Today yes showers ,back in time we didn’t have showers, we didn’t have hot water from the tap, heck we didn’t have running water unless you call running down the road with two buckets to get the water in as running water. Had that system even in high school .@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout

I know what your talking about but I ( in some ways) was lucky ,I was the oldest child wait I was the youngest child, hold it I was the only child so the water was usually at least warm.

@Repete My older brother was the strictest about bathing me... he would keep me in the tub for 45+ minutes just looking for a perfectly clean younger brother to impress our parents with how good a job he did bathing me.
