Want a glimpse into how sickeningly unaffordable healthcare is in the US?

@DancingStarGoddess that is horrible, the US has to wake up and admit that we can and should afford better medical care in a way that shows it is a right of the citizen to have access to such.

@samueltyler2 before he had the trust(it's his 401k put into a special needs trust he now has that I asked to be set up for him after he sustained another brain injury later)He would try to stretch his meds because he was paying out of pocket and it became an issue. But if he doesn't take those meds the results will be catastrophic. He's done things like lie down to nap on a Friday and woken up outside on the curb with injuries and EMTs around him and no recollection of how he even got outside in the first place.

Personally I've been in the hospital sick before and began sneezing...a nurse handed me a tissue from the box on the table. ONE tissue only and later on my bill (16,000$+) there was a charge of $10.00 USD for a BOX of tissues. 🙈

@swirlie the problem is that heath care is a for profit business with shareholders and highly paid CEOs.

Example. The CEO of Baylor, Scott and White Heath, a non profit with 50 hospitals makes over $8 million plus $2m in benefits.
