Capitalism being the best bestest ultra mega top-notch possible economic system, especially if unregulated, anyone?

@Elessar My American girlfriend found out yesterday, that if you work out here... you have the right to payed leave and sick days. 😅
She looked it up by herself, and was quite amazed by it all.

@Kwek00 I've had people here on this very site not believing me when I hinted I have 4+ weeks of paid leave lol

This is a glaringly obvious sign of a greedy and failed society

@Kwek00 And yet so many people are striving to get into the US.
Why would anyone want to live in the US?
Those who say the US is a great country are simply ignoring all the disgraceful things that are going on there.
The age old quote, The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing - rings true here.
The hundreds of millions of "Good Americans" not speaking up will see the US home to third world conditions for millions and millions of citizens
Whilst the 729 billionaires and 22 million millionaires - 8% - go about controlling the economy and ensuring the hoi polloi remain a beaten populace.

@Gusman You can have a society that has a lot of issues, and still have less issues then the society where immigrants are comming from Gusman.

Ever since the late 1970s "redistibution" and so called "big governement", has been painted as "the enemy" by a segment of the US poppulation. That mentality is pretty much destroying the middle class and thus increasing the gap between the poor and the rich. And the rich? Well, they have increased their influence constantly, by backing up so called "think tanks" that don't excist too educate the poppulation but only excist to make sure that the general poppulation doesn't focus their attention on the fact that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Selling oligarchy by waving a flag around, telling people that it's patriotic to follow their guidelines, invoking God and blaming the underclass for not taking personal responsibility inside the system. A system that doesn't give one fuck about the underclass to begin with, and actively teaches that anyone else shouldn't give a fuck either. Attacking education and winning a lawsuit saying that "money" is "free speech". Giving a rich person more weight in the conversation, because they can buy TV-ads and influence voters more then any other American that doesn't belong in the higher echelons of the wealthy. And to buy up media groups and back content creators on popular platforms, so that you can listen to propaganda from the oligarchical elite 24/7.

I looked up how much CEO wages have grown since 1978... and it skyrocketed. According to the Economic Policy Institute, CEO wages since 1978 have gone up by 1,460%. Even if we grant that this number is over exagerated... it will still be a hell of a lot more then the wages of working people that have stopped rising with inflation around the same time. The cake, is just being divided by an oligarchical group and everyone else is feeling the consequences. And when people get angry, they get distracted by things that have a historical bad connotation inside society... ike: immigrants, transsexuals, gays, racism in general, ... etc. There is always a culture war to fight, because we can't talk about redistibution, 'cause that's socialism... or something.
