Diabetics have you had this?

Have you had this type of neuropathy where one or two toes feel different than typical numbness..(typical where its tingling or the fell- asleep numbness) in which the two toes feel like you injected 10 shots of novacaine, where its lost complete feeling and SO NUMB that it's also painful and feels like you can't bend it? Like a stiffness or will break in half?

Now that you mention it, yeah.

@LordShadowfire How long did you have foot neuropathy? What helped treat it most?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Baybreeze I haven't actually tried treating the neuropathy. I've mostly been working on keeping my blood sugars under control, because I recognize that the neuropathy is a symptom, not the problem. But it's starting to get steadily worse, and I might end up needing to take something for it. My dad is on Lyrica for his neuropathy, but it gets really bad. His feet get itchy, and he swears they are ice cold when they're not, and it's just nightmarish for him.

@LordShadowfire Did your neuropathy just start? How long have you had diabetes? I agree treating the sugars most is key. Im sorry of your dad's pain. Ughh just terrible...my sister now has it.

@Baybreeze I've been diagnosed since like 2014. I've kept my neuropathy under control by keeping my diabetes itself under control. My dad, on the other hand, let his rage out of control from the time he was diagnosed in 2005 until I was diagnosed, so his is way worse.

@LordShadowfire How do you keep it in control? Her sugars crash down fast with just one unit insulin..so sometimes she kept the sugar high to not have it so low. 😢
