I hear ya. I used all all my sick leave and personal time off, and then went a few days of leave without pay. Sucks, came outta my savings account. 😕

3 to 5 days here. It depends where you live. Everybody has kind of accepted that omicron will not be avoided anyway.

It varies from person to person. When I got Covid 19 I tested daily with the home test kit and finally tested negative 10-11 days after day zero. HR let me come back after I sent work a picture of the results. Employers are different, some let you come back after only 5 days or so after the fever goes away, some 10 days. Talk to your manager.

@PatKirby I’ll given my manager a call
Neoerectus · M
5 days is not enough for majority avvording to recent research. I would wait until negative, wait a day or two, and then mask for a week to be sure.
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@Neoerectus what the hell am I supposed to do? What if I feel better in a couple of days and I still have Covid? I can go to work right? Don’t worry I’ll wear my mask.
Neoerectus · M
@PetiteJulie01 Typical case where workers are forced to go to work when they shouldnt. I support unions due to reasons like this one. I feel for you.
Masks will help keep breath droplets from getting away somewhat. They work best when transmitter and receiver wear them.
Most wont get severe cases. but if like my neighbor who has had it twice, it was bad each time and she has long covid as well.

I think it is five days but call HR on Monday and your doctor to get an all-clear return to work slip.
Good luck, I a retired myself and had covid in September myself.

@WillaKissing okay thank you

Personally I'd speak to your manager. It impacts people in different ways. Do make sure you give yourself enough time to recover so you are fully better.
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@nacnud thanks
I have heard:
Long enough to have two consecutive days of negative Covid tests.

The US has stopped mandating anything anymore. CDC still recommends 5 days at home and then 5 days wearing a mask in public as far as I know unless it’s really severe. But it’s up to your company to set policies.
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@SW-User okay. But what if I feel better by a couple of days? Could I go back to work? I should be able to go back to work by Thursday or Friday.

@PetiteJulie01 Up to your company. You need to ask them.
PetiteJulie01 · 22-25, F
@SW-User I asked them and they told me if I’m free of symptoms and after five days we should be about it be back to work.
