You should pray how Jesus prayed. Look at The Lord's Prayer. Is Jesus asking for favours? no he is asking forstrength for "thy will be done". Jesus gave you the perfect example of prayer

@REMsleep I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree with you on this. Yes we read our Bible to understand [i]who[/i] God is, but not how to pray and be a Christian. Religion and denominations have nothing to do with it. We pray so that we can have salvation.

@LadyGrace Well as always I will point to the word of God from where I obtain all of my teachings on God and his perfect will. I think that perhaps you might have misunderstood what I was saying because you meantioned religions and denominations while I did not.

By this I mean that from the Old Testament to the New Testament, the Bible has taught us how to pray.
Jesus gave us an example of how to pray as well.

Luke 11:1 [b]"Lord teach us to pray."
Followed by The Lords Prayer.[/b]

Romans 8:26
[b]“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words[/b]
This verse lets us know that we are weak in flesh and may pray for things which are not to be.


I meantioned that the Bible teaches us how to pray because @Dan193 meantioned that he lost faith because he prayed for a few things in his life and those things did not happen. Well that is not how the Bible says that prayer works so I suggested he read the Bible to learn about prayer, how to pray, and how prayer works.
Everything which I have said here is from scripture.
