So I don't pray a lot, but I need some genuine prayers rn

I'm Christian, but I don't pray much, I stopped many years ago asking God for stuff, because it was not coming true, so I thought it was pointless, and stopped asking.
Now, recently more people in my life, here included, told me that I should leave my faith in God's hands more and pray more.

I'm feeling like I got a cold today and I got a vacation trip in a day, also I've been living with somebody that has covid rn. Taking care of them, but being super cautious about it.
I made 2 covid tests tonight, and both were negative.
But still can any of you pray for me, that it is indeed just a cold, and that it will heal by the time I have to go on my trip?

Well if you believe in God's will, the idea of asking God for things is silly. When you pray you should thank God and pray that you find within yourself the dignity and strenght to do her will

@JimboSaturn Thats a logical concern thanks, but I was adviced by family members and people here that I trust that have no ill motives, about praying more, and asking and not just hold it in. Like I should still work hard at things, but still pray for those things, because it's not always only about the hard work.

You should pray how Jesus prayed. Look at The Lord's Prayer. Is Jesus asking for favours? no he is asking forstrength for "thy will be done". Jesus gave you the perfect example of prayer

@JimboSaturn bro 😂 I really don't want to get into this. Just normal praying, saying a prayer and and then asking God what I want and where it hurts. And then hope that He was listening.
