I am not going to get the Corona virus vaccine. To many toxins and chemicals in vaccines.
I get sick from the flu vaccine. So I don't get the flu shot anymore.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Smart23 I suppose you wouldn’t recommend your children get vaccinated either?
Smart23 · 51-55, F
@SimplyTracie Not for the Corona virus vaccine no. But yes for the basic vaccines babies and young kids get before school is fine.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Smart23 Gotcha

@Pikachu Is this interrogation over now?
@MarkPaul

Calm down bud. I was just curious about a claim that surprised me😉
@MarkPaul However, on the bright side...oh wait there is NO bright side. Never mind.
Ummm who are the two peeps who voted antivax :| thats just so bad
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TryingtoLava me because they mess with my immune system
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TryingtoLava Three total anti-vaxers
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@cherokeepatti There’s always herd immunity. Lotsa folks are hoping for that.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
With Trumps history on not delivering what he says I won’t expect it being soon. One a vaccine has been developed and approved by the appropriate bodies then I’d have no problem in receiving it 🙂
TJNewton · M
@Dlrannie 😉😘👍️
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Dlrannie Well then I will consider getting it too.

Just looked at current results.

To explain to the 22 of you that voted option 3. All vaccines have to undergo rigorous tests in volunteers before they are licensed. The data gathered will look at how effective the vaccine is and more importantly how safe. Organisations like FDA in USA, EMA in EU & MHRA in UK will then review and question that evidence and data before granting a licence.
About 9 out of 10 vaccines that enter human trials fail on one or both these points.
So you don't need to wait that testing will have already been done

@Elessar Well thank goodness I'm retired
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SW-User You were in an ethnic committee? :O
SW-User
@Elessar I worked in IT for pretty much all my career (a small period as a management consultant). My last job was as Head of Research IT at a large London research university. The Ethics system was my responsibility from an IT service point of view. I answered to the University Ethics Committee for that one.

I can hear all the "Can it just do x or y or z for Covid-19 trials?" "Oh and can we have that next Tuesday if you don't mind"...

I'll have to drop my successor (she was a protege of mine) a line see how it's going.
Elessar · 26-30, M
I'll get it, but independently than Trump's position about it, lol. I'm glad to see he's not pandering the anti-vaxxer portion of his electorate at least.

Oh and potential long term effects of even a mild SARS-Cov-2 infection probably outweigh the hypothetical ones of a vaccine.
Patients were assessed a mean of 60.3 (SD, 13.6) days after onset of the first COVID-19 symptom; at the time of the evaluation, only 18 (12.6%) were completely free of any COVID-19–related symptom, while 32% had 1 or 2 symptoms and 55% had 3 or more. None of the patients had fever or any signs or symptoms of acute illness. Worsened quality of life was observed among 44.1% of patients. The Figure shows that a high proportion of individuals still reported fatigue (53.1%), dyspnea (43.4%), joint pain, (27.3%) and chest pain (21.7%).
I don't know if I can trust what he says he's not a man of his words but if it happens soon I will take the Vaccine
I will take any vaccine that has been proven effective and reliable - irrespective of who announces it.

Several countries around the world are now very close to having differing types of vaccines. In some places trials with human volunteers have already begun; in others the trials will begin within the next few months.

http://hospitalhealth.com.au/content/clinical-services/news/australian-developed-covid-19-vaccine-could-be-ready-for-widespread-use-by-early-2021-684891081#ixzz6U1BRz2gB

'Adelaide-based company Vaxine says it could have a COVID-19 vaccine ready as soon as early 2021, providing all goes well with its human trial phase, which began earlier this month.

The company is testing a recombinant spike protein vaccine — similar to one it produced for the SARS outbreak in 2003 and MERS in 2012.

Although not the first candidate to have entered human trials for the COVID-19 pandemic, Vaxine’s protein-based formula may outpace its competitors — such as adenovirus vector-based vaccines. These are made from live viruses and tend to encounter tolerability issues.

Professor Nikolai Petrovsky, Research Director at Vaxine and a Professor at the College of Medicine at Flinders University, is hopeful that, unlike other vaccine varieties, his protein-based approach will have no issues in gaining regulatory approval.

“The recombinant spike protein method is tried and tested. It forms the basis of many modern vaccines,” he told Hospital + Healthcare.

“Adenovirus vectors and nucleic acid vaccines based on DNA or mRNA, on the other hand, have never been approved for human use in more than 25 years of experimentation.”

Petrovsky also said his solution could be scaled at a sufficient speed to ensure adequate global supply — minimising the long-term impact of the pandemic.

“Some other varieties of vaccine don’t lend themselves to large-scale production,” he continued.

“For example, DNA vaccines needs to be administered by a complex electroporation device — which is costly and time-consuming to deliver. They may also require up to three doses to be effective.”

In contrast, the infrastructure needed to mass-produce recombinant spike protein vaccines already exists in most countries globally.

That means, when a winning formula is found it can be rolled out in a matter of months — and at a rate more affordable to the world’s varying national economies.

The company isn’t waiting for regulatory approval to begin mass production, though.

“We are confident, based on previous experience of using the recombinant spike protein method, that our formula will offer strong and durable protection against COVID-19, without causing any safety issues,” Petrovsky said.

“As such, we have already begun production and will be ready to meet advanced purchased orders as soon as we get regulatory approval.”

Firms such as Novavax, Sanofi and Sequiris are also using the recombinant spike protein method and Petrovsky hopes they too are not far off producing a successful formula.

“There are 7.5 billion people worldwide that need protecting — that’s a lot of vaccine to manufacture and supply.

“If all this demand is going to be met by recombinant spike proteins, then it will be good to have multiple companies working together to meet the demand,” he concluded.'

@hartfire Are you concerned about getting infected?
@SimplyTracie
If the vaccine has been trialled and found safe and effective, then no, I would not be worried.
It's very likely that several different types of vaccines will come on the market at almost the same time around the world.
I have high confidence in the Australian research teams and will choose one of the vaccines from Brisbane or Flinders University.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@hartfire *noted
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Nope, I don’t even take flu vaccines because the 3x I’ve done it (about 25 years ago was the last one) I would get sick and fatigued all winter with paraflu. Never had it before taking flu shorts or since I quit.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@cherokeepatti I have heard of people getting really sick after their flu shot.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SimplyTracie I knew a coed who was sick for a full week, vomiting & just terribly sick after she got the flu shot. Mine wasn’t that severe but I was sick & fatigued all winter, and at least two of my relatives have similar experiences being sick all winter after flu shots.
TexChik · F
give it to Fauci, Pelosi, and the big Pharma CEOs first.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TexChik I think the developers should give it to their spouses first and then to their children.

Only if it's got bleach in it!
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Grateful4you What about via enema?
@SimplyTracie Even more effective especially with bleach for a really shiny hinnie!
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
Naw, I'm still on my regimen of Hydroxychloroquine with Lysol booster.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Grateful4you Pfft 😩
So funny.
RedwoodBarman · 31-35, M
A vaccine from the same guy who proposed drinking bleach?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@RedwoodBarman One of the same. 🤭
This is the same guy who suggested drinking a toxic chemical, calls a qualified doctor a quack, and won't take the virus seriously to begin with. I would rather listen to someone who is smarter and has medical knowledge...like Dr. Fauci.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@latinbutterfly Thats him. But he did not say to drink a disinfectant. I think he said inject or maybe use a suppository.
Only if he administrators it himself with his holy hand.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@canusernamebemyusername ... and his upside down prop-bible.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@canusernamebemyusername Holy hand?
The one used for grabbing you-know-what?
@canusernamebemyusername LMFAO at "Holy hand" too funny!

I'd love to know how he is certain of that given most are only just entering phase 3 studies some are not in phase 2 and the majority being developed are not in human trials at all.

Having said that I'd 100% take it like all other vaccines I've taken in my life.

I'm actually signed up to the UK national vaccine trial so I might get a dose very soon of one of the ones being tested.
SW-User
I'm all for a vaccine that is adopted world-wide although i'd be reluctant to become an early adopter without good medical advice. There is huge pressure to be the company first with a vaccine so the speed at which it's going through it's trials makes feel like i'd rather wait until others have had it. Having said that, you only have to be one of those who ends up spending a month on a ventilator then comes out of that with a life time of lung damage to realise that the vaccine might have been worth trying sooner than later.
I'll wait until the double blnd studies are done first. That will take awhile.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F

if Trump is selling the product, NO WAY!!!!!!
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@cycleman Hmmm, that’s interesting though. Can a president invest in a pharmaceutical company and then give them green lights all the way to Hollywood?
cycleman · 61-69, M
@SimplyTracie this past week where Trump is directing attention to Stella Immanuel as an answer ... no thx.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@cycleman Seems like lotsa people have a cure. Let’s get Trump to be tester.

If it is Russian... no.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SW-User Russia is going to lead the biggest clinical trial in the world. Involving the entire population 🙈
SW-User
@Elessar If Russia comes out with a safe effective/vaccine first.... we know who developed the virus.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SW-User Not necessarily, they could just be lucky to come with an effective and safe vaccine at the first try. Moderna's and Oxford's prototypes were developed several months ago as well, and for first, and for now the data look promising. It's testing what takes time. If they skip it altogether and "test in production", as we say in IT, it'll be just a game of (pun intended) Russian roulette.
Is that demon semen doctor making it?! If so I’ll pass.
Allelse · 36-40, M
I didn't think he believed in vaccines.
If all Americans would start injecting themselves with disinfectant all your problems would be over and everything would be very great and very good. You just need to trust Trump, the fount of all wisdom.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@TopOfTheWorld I will try. NOT!
MissTaken · 36-40, F
Well he did say the Virus was a hoax, he said it would all be over by April. He’s said it will just disappear suddenly so do you really trust anything he says
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@MissTaken Oh yeah. 😂😂😂

@SimplyTracie My body, my choice!😉
Oster1 · M
@SimplyTracie Nope! I refuse to take this vaccine. They even skipped animal trials, thank God. In the present trial, 80% were injured and no, I’m nobodies research assistant. Look it up, yourselves(not aimed at you, sweet Tracie)😉
YoungPoet345 · 26-30, F
Definitely 3rd option 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@YoungPoet345 scaredy-cat 😂😂😂
Elessar · 26-30, M
@YoungPoet345 Well, that's exactly what ongoing clinical trials are for, lol. The vaccine you're probably getting over there is already in the 3rd phase.

Of course. Who wouldn't?
