If Covid-19 spikes again, could the population handle another lockdown?

I heard some areas are still locked down.

If they don't lock down, can the population handle the 1/2 million potential deaths?

@independentone They originally projected 2.2 million in the US, alone.
@ProfessorPlum77 125,000 is bad enough, a couple million would be devastating to the country.

@independentone I agree it is "bad enough." It is bizarre how far off the "experts" were.
