Here’s the Snack Bar in the Chemo Center…

The second photo has the lunch cart that they bring around and offer us food and drinks. You can see so many sugar-filled things. I did accept a greenish banana while ago though. Hope that doesn’t spike my blood sugar level after taking chemo.

They do take good care of you there. But I am glad you bring your own healthy snacks for the most part. All that sugar!

@4meAndyou Sweets are not good for cancer patients. They even have really tempting puddings with fruits and whipped cream and ice creams too…several kinds of sandwiches, and fruit juices. I would take the cranberry juice if it was the same type of cranberry cocktail they offered in the hospital. It was sweetened with stevia and was delicious.

Not good to have sugary things in this place . Should be healthy snacks all around 🤷‍♂

Good luck with chemo . 🙏🏻🕯🌹

Damn Hun I'm really sorry... I hope your ok 😔😔😔❤❤❤

@BrandonWyatt36 Yes I’m OK. I am Stage 4 but I don’t feel like I am Stage 4. That’s the weirdest thing. The chemo is strong and I am unproductive for the rest of today and the next day but otherwise I feel good enough to do cook, clean, run errands, do chores and other things. I don’t feel like I am suffering. The first time I was diagnosed I wasn’t able to do much of that for several months. And I am tolerating the chemo very well too. Except losing my hair. It was get removed tomorrow because there’s not much left and I am tired of vacuuming up hair in the bathroom and elsewhere.

@cherokeepatti That's Good Hun I'm glad you don't feel bad... And again I know WEIRD coming from me but besides the treatment your best bet is Prayers to God FR FR... He IS the Best one to turn to... Get well soon ❤❤❤

@BrandonWyatt36 Absolutely, I thank God every day for my life and feeling good. I believe I can heal, and feel peaceful about it.

I hope you can soon put all this behind you

@meggie Thank you
Levenrack · 46-50, M
Ummm forget the sweets, why is rum gone........? j/k
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Levenrack I don’t know, could bring it in a flask if you wanted to. Alcohol is not good for cancer patients, extra stress on the liver. And definitely not the caretakers either, they are the ones driving the patients home after chemo. Caretakers can get snacks and drinks and lunch items here too. Some of them get one of every category besides helping themselves to drinks and snacks before and after lunch.

Too bad you couldn't have found something good to eat.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti May God truly bless you 🙏🙏🙏
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman thank you. Ray bought me a basil-tomato soup at the restaurant on the first floor before we left to go home. It was really, really good.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I am glad to hear that 😊
You have a nice snack center, we were asked if we wanted a prewrapped ham or turkey sammich, pepsi, starry, either regular or diet, no ginger ale, coffee, no hot cocoa, or a small apple or orange juice or cookie that was most likely made in the 90's.
@cherokeepatti I'm surprised
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@NativePortlander1970 I believe that my rheumatologist helped a great deal with his suggestions. It really helped with the arthritis pains and stiffness. He said anything I did to get the arthritis inflammation down would also help with cancer.
@cherokeepatti With my bad heart, steroids would explode it, I was told the steroids would counteract any chemo effects.
They serve sugary snacks at a chemo center?

Dafuk!

Doesnt sugar feed cancer?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@OogieBoogie The caretakers can have the foods and drinks too. A lot of the patients take it as well. I just bring my own low carb food and drinks, sometimes make chamomile tea.
@cherokeepatti i think....stick to your regime. You evidently have looked right into health and wanna to work with your body.

Keep at it gurl💪
