You have a nice snack center, we were asked if we wanted a prewrapped ham or turkey sammich, pepsi, starry, either regular or diet, no ginger ale, coffee, no hot cocoa, or a small apple or orange juice or cookie that was most likely made in the 90's.

@NativePortlander1970 they have coffee and tea to get any time, Sprites and a lot of fruit juices, puddings, fruit with cake & whipped cream desserts and chips, 3 kinds of sandwiches. I think if ginger was not a blood thinner they might have offered that. Probably not approved since some are having bleeding problems with their type of cancer.

@cherokeepatti Chemo causes nausea, ginger ale helps stop it, I thought You would have known that.

@NativePortlander1970 Yes I know that. I have some Reed’s sugar free ginger ale and always keep candied ginger for a quick remedy. Don’t want to take it regularly due to ginger being a blood thinner and risk becoming anemic again. They always put an anti-nausea med in the chemo line and steroids so patients don’t get sick or reject the chemo and start having reactions. I never have gotten sick with either chemo regimen that I have been on. The oncologists have said that 70% of patients will have nausea, vomiting and diarrhea with this chemo so I am doing pretty darn good. I did get nauseated in the grocery Chinatown store a couple months ago when Ray took me there. But that’s not surprising, the meat & fish counter smells vile. We went to look for fresh produce and walked out without purchasing anything. I was burping my way through the store so we didn’t stay long.

@cherokeepatti I refused the steroids due to my heart issues

@NativePortlander1970 I think they are helping with my arthritis. I was doing a lot better before I started chemo this time after eating so many healing veggies & fruits, teas etc every day. A few weeks ago I saw something on the kitchen floor and bent down to pick it up and was surprised at how much more limber I was and no pain doing that. I started doing that a lot more often instead of grabbing a broom and dustpan.

@cherokeepatti Steroids are the best anti inflammatories you can take, HOWEVER, it comes at a nasty cost, they horrendously affect your cardiac and hunger control systems, my late ex fiancee was taking low dose prednisone for her back, and could demolish a whole cake like it was nothing.

@NativePortlander1970 Not bothering me like that for some reason

@cherokeepatti I'm surprised

@NativePortlander1970 I believe that my rheumatologist helped a great deal with his suggestions. It really helped with the arthritis pains and stiffness. He said anything I did to get the arthritis inflammation down would also help with cancer.

@cherokeepatti With my bad heart, steroids would explode it, I was told the steroids would counteract any chemo effects.
