Yeah...you know you can SPRAY that pillow with shout, and THROW it in the washing machine and wash it with hot, hot water, and it will come out like new?
I am supposed to wash my pillows once a week, even though they have allergy covers on them...but If I am lucky they get washed every two months.

The index case couple almost certainly became infected while in Argentina. While the incubation period can be as short as a week, 6 - 8 weeks is more typical. Hanta virus (only the Andes strain is known to transmit person-to-person) is much less prone to human transmission than COVID and, unlike the COVID viruses, the Hanta viruses have not been known to mutate.
During the pandemic, the infectivity of the COVID viruses increased considerably; so much so that a single infected person could spread the infection to up to 20 people.
This hanta virus is less infective and requires closer (almost intimate) contact to spread person-to-person. A confined space such as a cruise ship with repeated exposures being possible, even likely, increases the risk.
The largest documented case of an Andes hanta virus outbreak involved 34 infections.
Even with the bungling of RFK, Jr heading up the HHS and thus CDC, this should not become much of a threat. However, Kennedy remains hard at work making vaccine preventable diseases great again so it remains imperative that he be removed.
